Michael B. Jordan has starred in both Creed films and rumors have it that the next installment in the franchise will see him not only in the ring but also on the director’s chair.
Men’s Health reveals that in his book, A Life in Movies: Stories from 50 Years in Hollywood, the producer of both Creed films and the original Rocky series wrote that he promised Jordan the job. “Last year in a conversation with our Creed star Michael B. Jordan, I offered him the opportunity to not only star in, but also to direct Creed 3,” he wrote.
Jordan was also asked about the future of the series during the premiere of Just Mercy and told Entertainment Tonight that Creed 3 will definitely happen. The actor didn’t reveal any other details though.
In 2015, the first Creed movie became one of the most popular films of the year. It became the highest-ranked movie of the Rocky franchise on Rotten Tomatoes – surpassing even the original. Creed 2 was released in 2018 and garnered some criticism about its storyline but was generally well-received.
