Willem Dafoe boards Guillermo del Toro’s adaptation of Nightmare Alley.
He joins Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett, and Rooney Mara in the feature based on the William Lindsay Gresham novel of the same name. According to Variety, Dafoe will play the head barker at a traveling carnival who gives Cooper’s character a job, ushering him into a world of show biz and grifting.
Del Toro will direct from a script he co-wrote with Kim Morgan for Fox Searchlight.
