Willem Dafoe gave us one of the most iconic Spider-Man villains in the role of Green Goblin, and he wouldn’t mind playing him again. The acclaimed actor recently revealed he’d gladly return to one of his most iconic roles if the opportunity arose again.

Dafoe played Norman Osborne aka Green Goblin in Sam Raimi’s 2000s Spider-Man trilogy. As Marvel started exploring the concept of the multiverse, they asked Dafoe to reprise his iconic role, and he came back as Green Goblin in Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021.

Dafoe’s Green Goblin returned to his universe at the end of the film, but we learned that the multiverse is full of surprises. We wouldn’t mind seeing this iconic villain again—and neither would the actor.

“I mean, that’s a great role. I liked the fact that it’s a double role both times. Twenty years ago, and fairly recently, both times [were] very different experiences, but I had a good time on both,” Dafoe told Inverse in a recent interview.

The Oscar-nominated actor is currently busy promoting his upcoming film Inside, and he has several exciting projects on the way. He’ll appear in Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City, Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things, and Patricia Arquette’s Gonzo Girl later this year.
