The Hunger Games alum has just landed her next gig.
According to Variety, Willow Shields has been cast in Spinning Out, Netflix’s upcoming ice skating drama series. Cast in a series regular role she will star opposite Kaya Scodelario. Scodelario was announced as the series lead on Thursday, taking over from Emma Roberts, who exited the project.
The series follows Kat Baker (Scodelario), an up-and-coming, high-level single skater who’s about to turn in her skates after a disastrous fall took her off the competition track when she seizes an opportunity to continue her career as a pair skater. Shields will star as Serena, Kat’s younger sister. While Serena lacks her sister’s natural grace on the ice, she makes up for it with discipline and fierce determination.
The series was created by Samantha Stratton, a former competitive figure skater herself. She will also serve as executive producer and co-showrunner alongside Lara Olsen.
