With two months to go until Enola Holmes returns to our screens, we now have our first look at what to expect.

The initial film based on the younger sister of Sherlock Holmes became Netflix’s most-watched film the weekend of its debut. It went on to be watched by 78 million households and received a 91% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Based on its thrilling success, it was hardly surprising that a sequel was announced. As expected, Millie Bobby Brown will reprise her role as the titular character, alongside Henry Cavill as Sherlock, and Helena Bonham Carter as their mother Eudoria.

The first images from Enola Holmes 2 include the teenager sitting handcuffed in what appears to be a carriage, she and Eudoria in a shed, Sherlock reading a newspaper, and Enola running through town.

“Fresh off the triumph of solving her first case, Enola Holmes (Brown) follows in the footsteps of her famous brother, Sherlock (Cavill), and opens her own agency — only to find that life as a female detective-for-hire isn’t as easy as it seems,” reads the logline for the movie. “Resigned to accepting the cold realities of adulthood, she is about to close shop when a penniless matchstick girl offers Enola her first official job: to find her missing sister.”

Enola Holmes 2 premieres on Netflix on 4 November.
