YouTube has a new series called Birthday Song in development, and it will make you see the birthdays of your favorite artists in a whole new light – starting with British hitmaker Lewis Capaldi.

This exciting series will see some of the world’s leading recording artists covering songs that were on top of the charts on the day they were born; The Chemical Brothers and Noel Gallagher collaboration “Setting Sun”, in Capaldi’s case.

Luke Hyams, YouTube’s head of originals in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, discussed the project with Deadline and expressed his hope it will allow the viewers to learn something new about artists’ creative process and their personal journey.

“I was fascinated to hear the early story of an artist. I’m interested in how their parents met, what was going on in the world around the time they were conceived and what their early life was like. This format allows us to do just that,” explained Hyams.
