Step Up: High Water keeps on dancing, at least one more season. YouTube announced on Monday that they are renewing their successful dance drama for season two, with a premiere date set for 2019. Season two of Step Up: High Water will have 10 episodes and will be available on YouTube’s newly formed subscription-based streaming service, YouTube Premium.

Step Up: High Water, based on the Step Up film franchise, saw its first season premiering in full on YouTube on January 31, 2017. The series revolves around twins Tal and Janelle and their attempt to get accepted into High Water, “Atlanta’s most cutthroat performing arts school.” The series stars Petrice Jones as and Lauryn McClain as Tal and Janelle respectively, with Marcus Mitchell, Terrence Green, Carlito Olivero, and Ne-Yo being part of the cast.

“With Step Up: High Water, we wanted to create a dramatic series that reflects the world where the YouTube audience lives — it’s diverse, vibrant and authentic,” said YouTube global head of original content Susanne Daniels. “The energy from the talented teams in front of and behind the camera brought this dance drama to life and pulled viewers in right from the start. We look forward to working with Lionsgate, Holly Sorensen and the full ensemble of actors, choreographers, writers, directors and creative minds behind this series for another exciting season.”

According to YouTube, Step Up: High Water was already a big success, generating over 22 million views since its release. Despite being a part of YouTube’s paying platform, you can enjoy the first season of the show for free.
