Another fan campaign managed to bring back a canceled show from the dead. This time it’s the musical comedy Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, which is set to return as a two-hour holiday movie on Roku Channel. The project will see the return of the main cast led by series star Jane Levy.

Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist centers on software developer Zoey Clarke (Jane Levy), who suddenly discovers she has the ability to hear people’s thoughts as songs. The show premiered back in 2020 and met with positive reviews while also drawing solid ratings. This helped it score a second season, but a decline in viewership prompted the network to pull the plug on it.

After the news was announced, the fans started campaigning on social media to save the show. This prompted the producers to explore ways to continue the story of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist somewhere else.

The series was offered to several networks in various formats and was at one point close to being picked up by streaming service Peacock. After the deal didn’t materialize, Roku Channel decided to step in and offered the producers a chance to make a movie.

Reportedly, if Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist movie turns out to be a success and performs well among the Roku Channel audience, more episodes of the show might follow.
