Hollywood’s classiest “it” couple George and Amal Clooney became the parents of not one, but two children. The couple announced the birth of their twins in an official statement that poked a little fun at the actor’s reputation as well.
On the date of the birth, David Mack, Clooney’s representative, tweeted: “this morning Amal and George welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into their lives. Ella, Alexander, and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine. George is sedated and should recover in a few days.”
He’s certainly come a long way from his days as Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor.
Up until 2014, George Clooney was Hollywood’s most famous bachelor. However, even he decided to settle for the old “ball and chain” eventually. In September of 2014, the 53-year-old Clooney married Amal. After that, the next step was fatherhood. Allegedly, Clooney’s friends began poking fun at his just beginning the process at this old age, but he says he’s ready to take it all on.
On the topic of becoming a father, Clooney remarked that “it’s exciting… and we’re really happy and really excited, and it’s going to be an adventure. We’ve sort of embraced it all… with arms wide open.” Yet, having children is not always easy though.
Even Clooney admits that being “responsible for other people… is terrifying.” As someone who’s been a bachelor for the majority of his life, one can only imagine having two children to deal with is something of a new challenge. Yet, it’s a month in and everything seems to be going swimmingly. The twins were born in London where they will also be raised.
