Six seasons and a movie might actually be happening!

For years, fans of Community have called for “six seasons and a movie” to wrap up the story of those at Greendale Community College. The expression became such a thing that at one point it even found its way onto the show.

Plans for a film have been in development since 2014, and despite Community ending in 2015, no movie has arrived as yet. Cast members like Joel McHale, Donald Glover, Danny Pudi, and Gillian Jacobs have all expressed interest in returning for a big screen version of the series, with creator Dan Harmon also onboard.

Last year, Harmon expressed concern over whether the movie would be approachable to a viewer who is unfamiliar with the television show, but it seems as though some progress has been made…

“There’s been movement,” Alison Brie revealed on The Wrap’s Unwrapped podcast. “There’s been some talks. People are talking and certain things — wheels are turning. I said it!”

The GLOW actress is practicing caution, however. “I’m saying there are legitimate conversations that are happening. Whether or not they will ever turn into an actual movie — I would love it if they did, and I hope that they do — but the fact alone that actual real conversations are happening is I think the most progress we’ve ever made on that front.”

We’re keeping our fingers crossed.
