Comedian Trevor Noah made the transition from the small screen to the big screen and we didn’t even realize!
If you were one of the millions who saw Black Panther (which is entirely possible because the Marvel film earned over $1.3 billion worldwide), you likely heard Trevor’s voice without knowing it. The South African comedian provided the voice for Groit the AI who controls the Wakandan Ship which Everett Ross, played by Martin Freeman, flies.
So, where in Wakanda were you @Trevornoah? #BlackPanther pic.twitter.com/5gLYZDImE1

The film — set in a fictional African country — draws a lot from South African culture, with the characters speaking Xhosa which is Trevor’s first language.
As a result, the 34-year-old said, “There were subtitles, and I was like, I don’t need your subtitles! I don’t need your subtitles! This is just for me right now! Nobody else listens! This reminds me of my mom.”
Next time we hope to see your face as well, Trevor!
