]]>Shōgun already had 14 Emmys under its belt even before Sunday night rolled around, after winning big at the Creative Arts Emmy Award a week before. It added four more trophies to its impressive collection at the main event, including the coveted outstanding drama award, for a total of 18 wins – the most by any show in a single year in the Emmys’ history.
The race in the comedy categories has been pretty heated, with The Bear and Hacks going head to head. The Bear eventually walked away with four major awards and a total of 11, setting a new record for most wins by a comedy show in a single year. The outstanding comedy series award wasn’t one of them since it went to Hacks.
Netflix’s limited series Baby Reindeer was a clear leader among the limited and anthology series with four major awards. In addition to collecting the trophy for the outstanding limited or anthology series, its stars Richard Gadd and Jessica Gunning also won awards for their respective performances.
The 2024 Primetime Emmy Awards returned to the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on September 15, with Eugene Levy and Dan Levy serving as this year’s hosts.

]]>HBO’s head of drama Francesca Orsi announced the renewal of this acclaimed epic fantasy drama, and said they’re “in awe of the dragon-sized effort the entire team has put into the creation of a spectacular season two, with a scope and scale that is only rivaled by its heart.”
She praised its co-creators George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal for reaching new heights with the phenomenal second season, along with incredible executive producers, cast, and crew.
Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke are a part of the ensemble cast that made House of the Dragon a success story, along with Matt Smith, Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Matthew Needham, Sonoya Mizuno, Tom Glynn-Carney, and Ewan Mitchell.
House of the Dragon returned for its eight-episode second season on HBO on June 16. The show’s next chapter will continue telling the tale of the devastating war of succession between rivaling clans of House Targaryen, known as the Dance of the Dragons.

]]>Based on the 90s series Walker, Texas Ranger, this modern-day reboot starred Jared Padalecki as legendary Texas ranger Cordell Walker, who must return home to Austin and reconnect with his family after spending two years undercover.
Despite finding major success, Walker didn’t make it to The CW’s fall schedule, and its future has been uncertain ever since. The decision to cancel it was officially announced days after the Walker set had been dismantled in Austin, Texas.
The CW released an official statement thanking “the entire cast, crew, writers, directors, and producers of Walker for their hard work and dedication over four incredible seasons”, including its star and executive producer Jared Padalecki, who has been a member of The CW family for over two decades.
Padalecki took to social media to share his thoughts after the cancelation and thanked the cast, crew, and fans who made this show possible.
“It has been a unique honor to be a part of the cast and crew (and fandom!) that helped Walker tell the stories that we told. I will forever smile on the years I got to spend with the cast and crew and studio and network and fandom that made this all possible,” he wrote to Instagram.

]]>Superman in Gunn’s new film will be “the embodiment of truth, justice, and the American way”, and we’ll see him embarking on a journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas.
David Corenswet was tapped to play the lead role last summer, and it’s not a coincidence Gunn chose him to embody one of the most iconic superheroes in history.
“The next Superman has to be someone who has all the humanity that Superman has but he’s also an alien. It’s gotta be somebody who has the kindness and the compassion that Superman has and be somebody who you want to give a hug,” Gunn told Variety.
The first film sees Corenswet suiting up to save the day, while a giant meteor is seen through the window of his apartment. According to Gunnn, this photo was taken on set by Jess Miglio and was “entirely in-camera.”
Superman will hit the theaters on July 11, 2025, and it will also star Rachel Brosnahan, Isabela Merced, Edi Gathegi, Nathan Fillion, Anthony Carrigan, Sara Sampaio, and Nicholas Hoult.

The first official trailer sees Wade Wilson trying to recruit Wolverine to help him save the MCU after being pulled from the peaceful life in his timeline by the Time Variance Authority, a mysterious organization from Loki, committed to keeping the “Sacred Timeline” in check.
Deadpool & Wolverine will feature several familiar faces from the previous Deadpool movies, including Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, and Brianna Hildebrand. Jennifer Garner will join them as Elektra, along with Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova and Matthew Macfadyen as Paradox.
This film will mark Jackman’s first appearance as Wolverine since Logan, which was initially intended as his final film as this character. He previously starred alongside Ryan Reynolds in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

]]>Eilish’s album announcement was preceded by several pretty interesting hints. She kicked off the promo with a series of billboards featuring her new lyrics and used her Instagram stories to tease the album after adding all of her followers to her “Close Friends” list.
The singer’s fans were overjoyed to feel so included, and they welcomed the announcement of her new album with open arms. Eilish’s third LP will officially be called Hit Me Hard and Soft, and she announced it by sharing the dreamy album cover, which shows her floating in the deep blue waters, after seemingly falling through an open white door.
Eilish’s official album announcement described her new LP as a journey through “a vast and expansive audio landscape, immersing listeners into a full spectrum of emotions.” It will be released on May 17, and we won’t get to hear any singles beforehand because Eilish believes it’s a cohesive album “ideally listened to in its entirety from beginning to end.”

Unfrosted will mark Seinfeld’s feature film directorial debut, and he also co-wrote the script alongside Spike Feresten, Barry Marder, and Andy Robin. Seinfeld told Netflix that he initially joked about making a Pop-Tarts film with Feresten, but they realized that its origin story was actually quite intriguing once they started doing research and learning more about its history.
In addition to Seinfeld in the lead role, the star-studded cast of Unfrosted also includes Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan, Amy Schumer, James Marsden, Jack McBrayer, Bobby Moynihan, Maria Bakalova, Max Greenfield, Bill Burr, Dan Levy, Christian Slater, and Hugh Grant.

]]>The post “Shōgun” Makes History With 18 Wins at the 2024 Emmy Awards appeared first on EverydayKoala.

]]>Deadpool’s first MCU movie was a long time coming, and he won’t be alone for the ride.
Deadpool & Wolverine will be a part of the MCU’s Phase Five, and it’s scheduled to be released on July 26.

]]>Netflix describes Unfrosted as “a tale of ambition, betrayal, sugar, and menacing milkmen” taking place in Michigan in 1963. Sworn cereal rivals Kellogg’s and Post embark on another quest to prove their domination by creating a pastry that will change the face of breakfast.
Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story will start streaming on Netflix on May 3.
