The Queen of Pop kicked off her career-spanning The Celebration Tour in October last year, and she wanted to wrap it up in style. She announced a free gig taking place at the iconic Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and described it as “an unforgettable concert in one of the world’s most beautiful settings.”

She decided to make the tickets 100% free as “a thank you to her fans for celebrating more than four decades of her music over the course of the epic global run of the tour.” This strategy certainly worked, and the last act of The Celebration Tour was one to remember.

Anitta and Pabllo Vittar joined Madonna on stage in Rio de Janeiro, where she performed some of her biggest hits in front of 1.6 million people. This concert broke a major attendance record and became the largest concert by a standalone artist, even though Copacabana Beach attracted ever bigger crowds during past New Year’s Eve events.

Simba’s father Mufasa was one of the major characters in The Lion King, and we’ll finally get to learn more about him in this prequel film.

“Mufasa: The Lion King enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala… The story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka – the heir to a royal bloodline,” reads Disney’s official logline.

This prequel will also see Mufasa embark on an epic journey with an extraordinary group of misfits, which will force them to test their bonds and evade a threatening and deadly foe while searching for their destiny.

Mufasa: The Lion King will also mark the return of Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, John Kani, and Beyoncé, who’ll be joined by Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Tiffany Boone, Mads Mikkelsen, Thandiwe Newton, and Lennie James. Beyoncé’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter will make her feature film debut in this film.

R-rated original films usually struggle to make a mark at the box office, but that didn’t stop Challengers from serving up a win with a $15 million opening. In addition to topping the domestic box office, it earned $10 million outside of North America.

Deadpool’s first MCU movie was a long time coming, and he won’t be alone for the ride. The first official trailer sees Wade Wilson trying to recruit Wolverine to help him save the MCU after being pulled from the peaceful life in his timeline by the Time Variance Authority, a mysterious organization from Loki, committed to keeping the “Sacred Timeline” in check.

Deadpool & Wolverine will feature several familiar faces from the previous Deadpool movies, including Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, and Brianna Hildebrand. Jennifer Garner will join them as Elektra, along with Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova and Matthew Macfadyen as Paradox.

This film will mark Jackman’s first appearance as Wolverine since Logan, which was initially intended as his final film as this character. He previously starred alongside Ryan Reynolds in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

“Fortnight” was released as the lead single from The Tortured Poets Department, and bringing Post Malone for the ride was a dream come true for Swift.

“I’ve been such a huge fan of Post because of the writer he is, his musical experimentation, and those melodies he creates that just stick in your head forever.  got to witness that magic come to life firsthand when we worked together on ‘Fortnight,’” she wrote on social media.

“Fortnight” serves as the opening track of Swift’s latest studio album The Tortured Poets Department, which hit the shelves on April 19. Its standard edition features a total of 16 brand-new songs, but Swift also released the second volume subtitled The Anthology, which features 15 more tracks.

In addition to renewing For All Mankind, also ordered a spin-off Star City, described as “a propulsive paranoid thriller” about the Soviet cosmonauts, engineers, and intelligence officers who won the space race in this alt-history retelling.

Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi co-created Star City with Ronald D. Moore, after their fascination with the Soviet space program grew while they were working on For All Mankind.

“The more we learned about this secret city in the forests outside Moscow where the Soviet cosmonauts and engineers worked and lived, the more we wanted to tell this story of the other side of the space race,” said the duo in a statement.

The rumors about Varada Sethu’s casting started circling around back in January when Millie Gibson’s potential exit made the headlines. It eventually turned out that Gibson isn’t stepping down after all – she’ll be back as Ruby Sunday next season, with Sethu joining her as the Doctor’s second companion.

Sethu said she feels like the luckiest person in the world after her casting was announced, and added she’s “grateful to the whole Doctor Who family – because that is what they are – for welcoming [her] with open arms and making [her] feel so at home.”

Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies, who previously worked with Sethu on BBC’s adaptation of Midsummer Night’s Dream, said it’s a joy to welcome her on board and promised the stakes will be higher than ever once she boards the Tardis.
