Deadpool doesn’t need The Avengers.
After holding the top spot at the US box office for three weeks, Avengers: Infinity War — which broke almost all conceivable records — has been replaced by the Marvel anti-hero.
Deadpool 2 opened worldwide on the 18th of May, taking in $301.3 million globally during its first weekend.
Domestically, the Ryan Reynolds’ film took in $125 million, giving it the second largest R-rated film opening ever, behind the franchise’s original release in 2016.
Last month, the 41-year-old revealed a “rejection letter” received from Tony Stark (aka Iron Man), declaring that he should rather go try joining the X-Men.
