Sonic fans, your concerns have been headed.

The Nintendo character is coming to life in his first full-length feature film but has been looking a little different than the hedgehog we have become accustomed to.

The first poster for Sonic the Hedgehog, which was released in December, shows the speedy gerbil looking rather muscular and more furry than his animated self.

Fans were unhappy with the changes which were examined more clearly in the movie’s recently released trailer.

But worry not, because those responsible for bringing Sonic to the big screen have taken note.

Director Jeff Fowler has assured fans that the character will be redesigned before the movie premieres on November 8.

“Thank you for the support. And the criticism,” Fowler wrote on Twitter. “The message is loud and clear. You aren’t happy with the design and you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount and Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be.”

Well done to the production team for listening to the fans.
