Hulu did a great job reviving the cult animated series Futurama almost a decade after it went off air, and they’re not letting go of it anytime soon. The streaming giant announced they renewed this beloved adult animated series for two more seasons.

Futurama was originally created by Matt Groening for Fox, and it went through many significant changes over the years. The core story remained the same throughout its many ups and downs, and it centers on the adventures of Philip J. Fry, who tries to adjust to his new surroundings after being frozen and revived 1,000 years later.

The first four episodes of Futurama aired on Fox, but the show later moved to Comedy Central after they struck a deal with 20th Century Fox Television to syndicate its existing episodes. The seventh season of Futurama was the last to air on Comedy Central before Hulu decided to revive it one decade later.

Season 8 premiered on this streaming service back in July, and it features two batches of 10 episodes, with the second one set to premiere next year. The future of this show is looking bright after Hulu announced they’ve placed a 20-episode order for two more seasons.
