We’ll soon be returning to Cherry Tree Lane and our excitement is of supercalafragalisticexpialadoshus proportions!

It’s been 54 years since Julie Andrews floated down from the sky as Mary Poppins, and now we only have to wait a few months until we see Emily Blunt reintroduce us to the character whose heart was the only thing bigger than her handbag.

In the just-released teaser trailer for Mary Poppins Returns, Mary does just where she is greeted at the Banks home by Michael and Jane who now grown up and played by Ben Winshaw and Emily Mortimer, respectively.

Chicago director, Rob Marshall, is in charge of the film which has been touted as a sequel (in a generation of classics being remade) and even features a now 91-year-old Dick van Dyke not reprising his role as the chimney sweep, Burt, but rather appearing as the new character, Mr. Dawes Jr.

It’s probably just as well, as Hamilton star, Lin-Manuel Miranda, has been cast as lamplighter, Jack, who might just light Miss Poppins’ fire.

The film is only set to be released on the 25th of December, but this was definitely the sugar we needed to make the medicine go down.
