The Penny Dreadful spinoff City of Angels has shared a brand new trailer.
City of Angels is set in 1938 Los Angeles and will introduce a whole new set of characters to the gothic world of Penny Dreadful. The show features Game of Thrones‘ Natalie Dormer as a supernatural demon named Magda.
The new trailer gives us a closer look at Natalie’s character. Magda declares: “All mankind needs to become the monster he truly is, is being told he can.”

The official synopsis reads: “When a grisly murder shocks the city, Detective Tiago Vega (Daniel Zovatto) is embroiled in an epic story that reflects the rich history of Los Angeles: from the building of the city’s first freeways and its deep traditions of Mexican-American folklore, to the dangerous espionage actions of the Third Reich and the rise of radio evangelism.
“Before long, Tiago and his family are grappling with powerful forces that threaten to tear them apart.”
City of Angels will be released April 26, 2020.
