Twisted Metal centers on a motor-mouthed outsider John Doe, who must deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland for a chance at a better life. He’ll face many dangers on the open road alongside the axe-wielding car thief Quiet, including a deranged clown Sweet Tooth, who drives a sinister ice cream truck.

Twisted Metal is led by the Marvel star Anthony Mackie, while the main cast also includes Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Seanoa, Will Arnett, and Thomas Haden Church.

Showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith thanked Twisted Metal fans for their “love, support, and rabid enthusiasm” and promised things will get even wilder in Season 2.

“We are beyond thankful we get to continue the story of John Doe, Quiet, and Sweet Tooth as they face off against familiar faces and new grim foes in the long-awaited Twisted Metal tournament. The mixtape is made, and I’m thrilled to get back on the road with our stellar cast and crew,” said Jonathan in a statement.

The first image doesn’t tell us much about the film’s plot, and it simply shows Ford and Mackie hanging out behind the scenes of their upcoming Marvel movie. In addition to sharing the first-look photo, the studio also announced the title change, switching from Captain America: New World Order to Captain America: Brave New World.

Not much is known about the plot just yet, but Marvel already started setting the stage with the Disney+ show The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. This mini-series saw Anthony Mackie’s character Sam Wilson transitioning into the Captain America role after Steve Rogers passed him the shield in Avengers: Endgame.

Harrison Ford will join him as s Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, the President of the United States, taking over from William Hurt after his passing. The supporting cast will also include Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, Tim Blake Nelson, Shira Haas, and Liv Tyler.

Captain America: Brave New World will be released on May 3, 2024, as part of the MCU’s Phase Five.

Ghosted features cameos from the Star Trek actor John Cho, who agreed to come on board after the director Dexter Fletcher asked him to make a cameo. Evans’ Marvel co-stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan also appear in minor villain roles after the Captain America star personally called them up to join him on set.

Ghosted also features a cameo from Ryan Reynolds, and Evans didn’t have a hard time convincing him to jump on board because he basically owed him a favor.

“That’s why I didn’t feel bad asking Ryan – I did something for Ryan in Free Guy. But you’re still just like, ‘Sorry, do you want to do this?’ And they’re good buddies, so of course they’re going to jump in. But it’s like asking someone to pick you up from the airport,” Evans told Entertainment Weekly.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier creator Malcolm Spellman will join Mackie on the project, penning the script alongside Dalan Musson (Iron Sky: The Coming Race). The film currently has no director or other members of the cast attached.

Mackie had his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier as Sam Wilson/Falcon. Initially Captain America’s sidekick, Wilson takes over the mantle after retiring Steve Rodgers (original Captain America) gives him his shield at the end of the Avengers: Endgame.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier television series explores the events after Wilson receives the shield. He initially continues to use his alias Falcon but eventually adopts the Captain America moniker. The new movie centered on the character is expected to be a continuation of the story from the TV show.

Mackie officially entering the realm of Marvel movies as Captain America doesn’t mean we won’t get to see Chris Evans playing Rodgers’ version of the character anymore. Earlier this year, reports surfaced that Evans is in talks with the studio to reprise the role. He probably won’t return in full capacity but might pop from time to time as side character in future projects.

The characters in question are the former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) and the main villain Helmut Zemo (Daniel Brühl).

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will show the two titular characters join forces “on a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience.” The series takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame and the first of six episodes will premiere on March 19th.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier isn’t the only Marvel series coming to Disney+ this year. Loki starring Tom Hiddleston is scheduled to be released this June, while Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel are eying a late 2021 release.

Netflix unveiled tiny snippets of the upcoming three episodes and it will star some of our favorite stars in the showbiz.

The new season of this hit anthology series is coming our way on June 5, and Charlie Brooker managed to round out a pretty impressive cast. Judging by the trailer, Miley Cyrus, Anthony Mackie, and Andrew Scott will play the leads in the upcoming three episodes, but the cast also features the likes of Topher Grace, Nicole Beharie and Pom Klementieff.

Fans of the show spent longer than usual waiting for Season 5 because Brooker was busy filming interactive stand-alone special Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. This project proved to be extremely demanding since he tried tackling new grounds by creating a “choose your own adventure” kind of experience in the TV landscape.

“We knew going into it that this would impact our time, but it hasn’t stopped us from doing other films. I think it’s fair to say that it took us more time and effort than we had initially anticipated,” said Brooker in an interview with Hollywood Reporter.

Her life is completely changed after she witnesses a horrible crime in the house across the street, but no one believes her story – not even police.

Amy Adams will play the lead in the movie that’s also starring Gary Oldman and Julianne Moore as the couple next door. The Woman in the Window is based on a bestselling novel by A.J. Finn, with Pulitzer winning playwright Tracy Letts is the one in charge of penning the script. Joe Wright, the director behind the critically acclaimed adaptations of Pride & Prejudice and Atonement, will bring A.J. Finn’s book to the big screen.

It’s still unclear who’s Mackie going to play in this psychological thriller, but The Woman in the Window isn’t the only project keeping him busy. He recently joined the second season of Altered Carbon on Netflix.

That’s why it took Netflix a while to confirm its renewal, but Altered Carbon will be a little bit different when it comes back for Season 2. Fans will have to wave goodbye to the original cast. The actors are being replaced because of the complex nature of the show, based on novels by Richard K. Morgan.

Altered Carbon takes place in the distant future, where society’s elite found a way to overcome mortality. Clients with a deep pocket can accomplish this task by using technology that transfers human consciousness between bodies. The show follows central characters Takeshi Kovacs over different time periods, different planets, and different bodies. Joel Kinnaman brought him to life in Season 1, but it was always a matter of time before someone else stepped in.

Big shots at Netflix decided Anthony Mackie is the right guy for the job. This will be the first TV role of his career, but The Hurt Locker actor has a pretty impressive resume. We’re sure he’ll prove worthy of taking the “sleeve”.
