After months of anticipation, Doja Cat’s new album Scarlet is finally here, and she’s chosen “Agora Hills” as its latest single. The accompanying music video for this song is here, and it will win you over with its show-stopping cinematography and nostalgic vibe.

Doja Cat co-directed the music video for “Agora Hills” alongside Hannah Lux Davis, and they’ve chosen to go down the retro route. The vibe of this visual walks a fine line between sweet and sinister, and it shows the rapper doing everything from talking to her significant other on the phone from inside a candy-colored bedrom to floating down from the sky in the middle of a demolished neighborhood.

The music video for “Agora Hills” was released along with Doja Cat’s fourth studio album Scarlet, which hit the shelves this Friday. She decided to leave her signature pop-leaning sound behind when writing this record, and fully embrace hip-hop and R&B.

“Agora Hills” isn’t the first song from Scarlet to make a splash. “Paint the Town Red” was released as its lead single and became Doja Cat’s first solo song to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Promotional singles “Attention”, “Demons”, and “Balut” also preceded the album’s release.

Doja Cat set several Spotify records with her smash hit “Paint the Town Red”, and it was just a matter of time before this catchy bop hit No. 1. This song finally reached the peak of the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the rapper’s first solo single and second overall to top the chart.

“Paint the Town Red” attracted 32.1 million radio airplay audience impressions, 27.7 million streams, and 8,000 downloads during its most recent week on the chart. It took it about a month to reach the top, after it initially debuted at No. 15 following its release on August 4.

“Paint the Town Red” marks Doja Cat’s first solo single to reach no. 1 in the US and second overall. She previously hit No. 1 with the “Say So” remix featuring Nicki Minaj. This viral track also happens to be the first rap song to reach the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart in over a year, since Nicki Minaj’s “Super Freaky Girl” in August last year.

“Pain the Town Red” was released as the second single from Doja Cat’s upcoming album Scarlet. It will hit the shelves on September 22 and feature a total of 15 songs, including previously released singles “Attention” and “Demons”.

Doja Cat’s fourth studio album was a long time coming, and its release date is just around the corner. The Grammy-winning rapper announced her new album Scarlet is officially hitting the shelves this September, and she shared its cover art with the world.

Doja Cat’s last album cover for Planet Her was highly conceptual, but she decided to keep things pretty simple this time around. Cover art for Scarlet was created by artist Dusty Ray, and it features a crimson spider on a white background, keeping up with the title and theme of her upcoming album.

Doja Cat also confirmed that Scarlet will hit the shelves on September 22, and the singer is gearing up to drop another single ahead of its release. She’ll release a new song “Demons” on September 1, but this isn’t the first track she used to build up the hype for her new LP.

“Attention” was released as the album’s first single back in June, and it was followed by “Paint the Town Red”, which went on to become its biggest hit to date. It peaked at no. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart just this week and became the first solo female rap song on Spotify to top the US Top 50 chart.

Doja Cat’s promo for her fourth studio album has been one wild rollercoaster, and she’s finally ready to get real with her fans. After trolling us about the album’s title and sound, the rapper finally dropped the first song from her upcoming fourth LP: the lead single “Attention”.

The Tanu Muino-directed video opens with Doja rapping from her car, while surrounded with paparazzi and screaming fans – and things only get wilder from there. She can’t escape everyone’s attention while walking down the streets of LA and noticing people with flesh-colored masks on every corner.

The release of “Attention” was a long time coming, and she teased it on social media with a series of cryptic tweets such as “scarlet was here”, “scarlet’s watching”, and “let myself heal, scar finally sealed.”

“Attention” will serve as the lead single from Doja Cat’s fourth studio album, and she’s yet to share its official title. She teased several possible options on social media, including Hellmouth and First Of All, but eventually backtracked on them all.

She’s also expected to go back to her hip-hop roots, drawing inspiration from Erykah Badu, John Coltrane, and 90s rap, after saying that her previous pop-leaning hit albums Hot Pink and Planet Her were only “cash-grabs”.

After eight weeks at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, SZA’s “Kill Bill” finally managed to reach the top. The R&B star scored her first no. 1 single with this viral hit after Doja Cat recorded a remix for this song by her side.

“Kill Bill” drew 86.5 million radio airplay audience impressions, 28.3 million streams, and 5,000 downloads during its most recent week on the chart. Its recent surge can be credited to the remix featuring Doja Cat, but she wasn’t credited on the Hot 100 this week since the remix didn’t account for the majority of the song’s overall consumption.

This isn’t the first collaboration between two singers that made an impact on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. “Kiss Me More” reached No. 3 back in 2021 and went on to win several major accolades, including the Grammy Award for the best pop duo/group performance.

“Kill Bill” was released as the fifth single from SZA’s sophomore studio album SOS after becoming its breakout hit. It entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 3 before it was even released as a single, and later spent eight weeks at No. 2 before becoming SZA’s very first single to top the chart.

Amazing things tend to happen whenever Doja Cat and SZA join forces, and their latest collaboration is a case in point. Doja Cat hopped on a new remix of SZA’s smash hit “Kill Bill” and put an epic twist on this R&B banger.

The duo hinted they had a new collaboration on Twitter, with Doja Cat tweeting SZA, “sis… I did something bad,” and she replied by writing, “Jesus.. what is it.” It quickly turned out they have a new song on the way, and it turned out that the song in question was a new version of “Kill Bill”.

SZA and Doja Cat previously reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and won their first Grammy for best pop duo/group performance with “Kiss Me More”. Doja was expected to be featured on the original version of “Shirt” from SZA’s album SOS, but those plans fell through.

“She had surgery, she had to have that emergency, like, vocal cord surgery and she wasn’t ready in the time that we needed to get the song done… It was just a lot of confusion, but don’t know. I hope for the best, and I’m still, like, a major fan of her and her artistry,” SZA told Billboard at the time.

“Kill Bill” was released as the fifth single from SZA’s latest album SOS, and it peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Doja Cat has been teasing her next studio album on social media for quite some time and she just dropped the biggest bombshell about this record. The singer revealed she wants to make a full shift from pop to rap on her next album, developed under the working title Hellmouth.

In conversation with her fans on Twitter, Doja Cat revealed her new album will be “rap only” because pop doesn’t excite her anymore and she wants to prove herself as a rapper again.

“I also agree with everyone who said the majority of my rap verses are mid and corny. I know they are. I wasn’t trying to prove anything I just enjoy making music but I’m getting tired of hearing y’all say that I can’t so I will,” she wrote on Twitter.

The singer also revealed her new record will feature 10 tracks and 5 extras and revealed several potential song titles. Her tweets should be taken with a grain of salt until we get to hear her new music because she has a habit of trolling her followers by constantly announcing her retirement from music.

Doja Cat’s last album Planet Her peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, received a Grammy nod for album of the year, and produced hit singles “Kiss Me More” ft SZA, “You Right” ft The Weeknd, “Need to Know”, “Woman”, and “Get Into It (Yuh)”.

82 songs made the cut for the Academy Awards’ Best Original Song race this year, but Doja Cat’s “Vegas” won’t be one of them. The singer’s viral hit from the musical Elvis was ruled ineligible by the Academy because it samples Presley’s classic song “Hound Dog”.

Despite being arguably one of the biggest hits from a major motion picture soundtrack this year, “Vegas” won’t be in the running for the Best Original Song due to the Academy’s strict rules. It didn’t make the list of 82 eligible songs and the Academy decided to disqualify it because it’s not 100% original.

According to the Academy’s rules, both words and music must be “original, written specifically for the motion picture”, resulting from the “creative interaction between the filmmakers and the songwriters who have been engaged to work directly on the motion picture.” Since “Vegas” represents an interpolation of Presley’s “Hound Dog”, it didn’t pass the legibility criteria for the Best Original Song.

The score of Tár suffered a similar fate, and its composer Hildur Guðnadóttir will only get the chance to score a nomination for her work on Women Talking. Tár was most likely excluded because its score has been diluted by the use of pre-existing music.

Post Malone and Doja Cat are no strangers to amazing collaborations and it was just a matter of time before they made one by each other’s side. The music video for their catchy track “I Like You (A Happier Song)” is here, and it’s a whimsical, joyous, and carefree affair.

The light-hearted video opens with Post Malone painting a picture of a woman in his room, before joining Doja Cat in a field of flowers. The dreamy video perfectly fits the song’s vibe and it shows several lovestruck couples in between the shots of the two rappers.

“I Like You (A Happier Song)” was released as the third single from Post Malone’s new album Twelve Carat Toothache. It debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Malone’s eleventh top-ten hit on the chart and Doja Cat’s sixth.

Twelve Carat Toothache hit the shelves on June 3 and it was preceded by singles “One Right Now” ft. The Weeknd and “Cooped Up” ft. Roddy Ricch. It featured a total of 14 tracks, including collaborations with Gunna, Fleet Foxes, and the Kid Laroi. It debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, becoming Post Malone’s fourth top-five album in the US.
