The post Taylor Swift Sold More Singles Than Any Other Artist in the Past Decade appeared first on EverydayKoala.
]]>According to Forbes, Swift managed to sell 75,893,000 individual tracks in just ten years, and no other artists even came close. Eminem came in second place with 63,501,000 singles throughout the decade, but he is more than 12 million sales behind Swift.
This doesn’t come as much of a surprise, considering how many hit songs Swift gave us over the course of the past ten years. “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” “Shake It Off,” “Blank Space,” “Bad Blood,” and “Look What You Made Me Do” all topped the Billboard Hot 100, and the list of her singles in the top 40 is much longer.
Swift concluded the 2010s by dropping another chart-topping album, Lover, and she’s set to embark on a world tour in support of her latest album this summer. She was also named the Artist of the Decade at the American Music Awards. In addition, Netflix recently released a documentary about her, Miss Americana.

]]>The “Needed Me” singer has been hard at work, work, work, work, work, work over the last year and it shows. Now, the Barbados native has been named as the world’s richest female musician, courtesy of Forbes magazine.
The launch of her Fenty Beauty collection has left Rihanna rolling in more than glitter, as its mass success has helped the new entrepreneur rake in $600 million.
The impressive figure has also been aided by her extensive music category and world tours.
What’s even cooler, is that the fortune — which places her above the likes of fellow mononymous artists such as Madonna and Beyoncé, as well as Celine Dion — comes a decade after Rihanna was reportedly bankrupt.
The 31-year-old has even more opportunity to increase her earnings as she is rumored to release her 9th studio album sometime this year.

]]>Perry’s latest studio album Witness came out in June last year, and the singer quickly embarked on a world tour in support of it. Much of her earnings came from this tour, and it’s been rumored she pocketed around $1 million for each of her 80 concerts.
Katy Perry doesn’t owe her entire fortune earned during June-to-June time-frame to Witness: The Tour. She also served as a judge on Season 16 of American Idol and reportedly walked away with a $20 million paycheck.
She was closely followed by Taylor Swift, who earned $80 million between June 2017 and June 2018, according to Forbes. Beyoncé took the third spot, with $60 million in the bank.

Sofia Vergara also owes some of her fortune to several lucrative endorsements and licensing deals, including her collaborations with SharkNinja Coffee and Rooms to Go.
What makes her ranking even more impressive is the fact she made more money than all of the male TV actors this year. Jim Parsons, who came in first, earned $26.5 million over the same period of time.

]]>How did Jay-Z manage to become rap game’s highest-earner? Let’s just say he was all over the place this past year. Some of the major bank-account boosters that helped him secure this flattering title are his new record 4:44, join-album with his wife Everything is Love and the stadium tour On The Run II they went on together. It’s worth mentioning that the rapper also owns his record label Roc Nation and streaming service Tidal.
Diddy didn’t even have to break a sweat to secure the second spot on the list. He hasn’t dropped a new album in years, but that didn’t stop him from earning $64 million over the course of the last 12 months thanks to his stakes in Ciroc vodka and Aquahydrate water. Kendrick Lamar took the third spot, but his concert tour isn’t the only reason why. Endorsement deals with Nike and American Express also helped him add $58 million to his bank account.

]]>Forbes has now released its list of the world’s highest-paid actors of 2018 — and not all of them are there because of the movies they made.
The financially-focused publication revealed that between June of 2017 and 2018, Hollywood’s top 10 leading men made a combined total of $748.5 million.
The figure is significantly more than the $186 million earned by their female counterparts, of which Avengers: Infinity War actress, Scarlett Johansson earned the most with $40.5 million.
Despite not releasing a feature film since 2016, Money Monster actor, George Clooney, topped the men’s list with $239 million, thanks mostly to the sale of his Casamigos Tequila company, which he co-founded in 2013 with Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman.
George was followed by Dwayne Johnson who released not one, but 2 blockbusters this year, in the form of Jumanji: Return to the Jungle and Skyscraper. The combination earned him $124 million.
Third place went to Avengers: Infinity War star, Robert Downey Jr. who, with $81 million, might one day be as wealthy as his character, Tony Stark
Robert’s Avengers co-star, Chris Hemsworth, came in 4th place with $64.5 million, followed by Jackie Chan who rounded off the top 5 with $45.5 million.
The remaining spots were filled by Will Smith ($42 million), Akshay Kumar ($40.5 million), Adam Sandler ($39.5 million), Salman Khan ($38.5 million), and Chris Evans ($34 million).
Not bad for a year’s work.

The actresses who make up the top 10 highest-paid in their field managed to earn a cool $186 million between them before the taxman came calling.
Last year’s top performer — thanks to a mammoth year which saw her claim the Oscar for Best Actress — sadly could not hold on to the top spot as La La Land star, Emma Stone, dropped off the list.
Emma was pipped to the post by none other than Black Widow, Scarlett Johansson.
The 32-year-old’s role in Avengers: Infinity War, which made over $2 billion worldwide, ensured that she earned $40.5 million — quadruple her previous year’s sum.
The figure is almost double that of Angelina Jolie’s whose role in Maleficent 2 placed her in 2nd spot with $28 million.
Endorsements for Emirates, Smartwater, and Aveeno earned $19.5 million for Friends actress Jennifer Aniston, putting her in 3rd place.
Jennifer Lawrence and Reese Witherspoon rounded out the top 5 with $18 million and $16.5 million, respectively.
They were followed by Mila Kunis ($16 million), Julia Roberts ($13 million), Cate Blanchett ($12.5 million), Melissa McCarthy ($12 million), and Gal Gadot ($10 million).
