Madonna’s musical director Stuart Price discussed her upcoming tour with BBC News and revealed what we can expect. He described it as “a documentary through her vast career” and said it will feature 40 greatest hits from the star’s impressive catalog.

Madonna also decided to tour without a live band for the first time since the start of her career, putting an emphasis on the original multi-track recordings instead.

“There are live musicians that perform at different parts of the show. But what we realized is that the original recordings are our stars. Those things can’t be replicated and can’t be recreated, so we decided just to embrace that,” explained Price.

The Celebration Tour was expected to start earlier this summer, but the first North American leg was postponed after Madonna suffered a serious bacterial infection. The tour will now kick off at the O2 Arena in London, England on October 14, and Madonna will stay on the road until April 24, 2024, when she’ll conclude the tour with a show in Mexico City.

The Celebration Tour was originally expected to kick off with a concert in Vancouver last month, but Madonna was forced to take a break from performing after experiencing a “serious bacterial infection” earlier this summer. She spent several days in ICU and started plotting her return after completing full recovery.

Madonna later released a statement thanking fans for their positive energy during this difficult time and said she’ll be back on the road once she’s strong enough to perform.

“My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children. My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour. I also didn’t want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show,” she wrote on Instagram.

The European leg of the Celebration Tour will kick off in October as planned, and Madonna is now expected to open the North American leg with three concerts at the Barclays Center in New York this December.

Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden revealed they’ve received over 1,100 public nominations for recordings to add to the registry this year, but they eventually settled on 25, based on their cultural, historical, and aesthetic importance.

“The national library is proud to help ensure these recordings are preserved for generations to come, and we welcome the public’s input on what songs, speeches, podcasts or recorded sounds we should preserve next,” said Hayden in a statement.

Madonna announced her 40th-anniversary tour with a cheeky video that pays homage to her 1991 documentary Truth or Dare and features the likes of Diplo, Judd Apatow, Jack Black, Lil Wayne, Eric André, Amy Schumer, and her opening act Bob the Drag Queen.

According to the press release on the singer’s official website, this tour will take us on “Madonna’s artistic journey through four decades and pays respect to the city of New York where her career in music began.” The singer said she’s excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give her fans the show they have been waiting for.

Madonna’s 40th-anniversary tour will kick off on July 15 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada, before taking her everywhere from Detroit and Chicago to New York and Los Angeles. Madge seems to have taken that to heart as the flick so far has an all-female team. Juno screenwriter, Diablo Cody, is penning the script with Secretary writer, Erin Cressida Wilson, and Amy Pascal will produce.

Garner’s most recent role was as the fraudulent heiress, Anna Delvey, in the Netflix series Inventing Anna. The 28-year-old actress was barely recognizable as she donned several wigs and adopted the ambitious entrepreneur’s unusual accent. Since rumors began about her casting, Garner has participated in intense choreography sessions with Madonna’s choreographer and the Evita actress herself.

The first of P!nk’s eight studio albums came out in 2000, and she is believed to have sold over 40 million albums and 50 million singles worldwide since.

The list of most played female artists in Britain during the 21st century was based on airplay data and compiled by PPL (Phonographic Performance Limited) ahead of the UK’s National Album Day on October 16^th.

The theme for 2021 is “celebrating women in music”.

While P!nk earned prime position, she was followed by Madonna, Katy Perry, and Rihanna, while Lady Gaga rounded out the top five. Adele came in 6th ahead of Beyoncé, Kylie Minogue, Little Mix, and Whitney Houston.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show, Madonna revealed to Jimmy Fallon she turned down a tole in The Matrix.

“Can you believe that?”, she said to Fallon during the interview. “That’s like one of the best movies ever made. A teeny-tiny part of me regrets just that one moment in my life.”

The Matrix was released in 1999 and it follows hacker Neo (Keanu Reeves), who gets stuck in a simulated reality. Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss, Hugo Weaving, and Joe Pantoliano also started in the film. The film spawned two sequels The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, which were released in 2003. The Matrix Resurrections, the first movie in the franchise, is going to be released on December 22.

Other roles Madonna turned down include playing Catwoman in Batman Returns and a leading role in Showgirls.

“I saw them both and I regret that I turned down Catwoman, that was pretty fierce,” Madonna told Fallon. “Showgirls? No.”

Currently, Madonna’s working on a movie about her life, which she wrote and directed. No name or release date has been announced. Her new concert film, Madame X, premieres Friday on Paramount+.
