]]>Waititi discussed the possibility of releasing the director’s cuts of Thor: Love and Thunder, and said he won’t be doing such a thing because the director’s cuts “suck” and “are not good”.
“Directors need to be controlled sometimes and if I was to say, ‘Ah you wanna watch my director’s cut? It’s four and a half hours long!’ It’s not good at four and a half hours. There’s a lot of cup-of-tea breaks in there, you don’t even have to pause it,” Waititi told NME.
Even though he has zero interest in releasing his director’s cut, the Oscar-winning filmmaker revealed what it would look like. He said it would probably have a few more jokes and deleted scenes, but added they were deleted because they were not good enough.
Thor: Love and Thunder is playing in theatres right now and it grossed over $300 million since its premiere on July 8. Its cast includes Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Jaimie Alexander, Russell Crowe, and the ensemble of Guardian of the Galaxy.
