]]>Plot details are being kept under wraps, but this movie is set to continue the story of Pedro Pascal’s lone Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin. He goes on a run and does everything in his power to protect the Force-sensitive infant Grogu (also known by the nickname “Baby Yoda”) from the Imperial forces after initially being hired to hunt him down.
Jon Favreau, who created The Mandalorian for Disney+, will return as director and producer of its feature film adaptation.
“I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created. The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting,” said Favreau in a statement.
Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, echoed his words and praised Favreau and Dave Filoni for ushering in a new era of Star Wars with these two beloved characters, whose story is a perfect fit for the big screen.
The Mandalorian premiered on Disney+ in 2019 and ran for three seasons, and the streaming giant is yet to officially announce its Season 4 renewal.

According to its official logline, Ahsoka is set after the fall of the Empire, and it will follow the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.
Dawson was present when the teaser trailer was unveiled at London’s Star Wars Celebration, and she revealed what we can expect of her character in this series.
“Though she is not a Jedi, she has so much of that at heart for her – she’s driven by trying to do good. She sees a threat other people aren’t seeing… She has a sense that there’s something, she knows that these foes are not easily dismissed,” said Dawson.
Ahsoka will premiere on Disney+ in August, and it will also star Ray Stevenson, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker.

“I don’t know what would make me not enjoy doing it, especially as long as the audience is connecting with these characters… I love this format of telling one chapter at a time and keeping the audience guessing, but also fulfilling certain expectations,” said Favreau during EW’s Dagobah Dispatch podcast.

The series is led by Pedro Pascal, with Katee Sackhoff, Carl Weathers, Amy Sedaris, Emily Swallow, and Giancarlo Esposito in supporting roles. ]]>During the snippet from last week’s finale, Boba returns to Jabba the Hutt on Tatooine and destroys the new inhabitants. After they’re all dead, he sits on Jabba’s throne with Fennec Shand and “The Book of Boba Fett, coming December 2021” appears.
The show is its own series not an installment of The Mandalorian and it will star Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen).
Favreau and Dave Filoni will executive produce the series and Robert Rodriguez who directed the Chapter 14 (“The Tragedy”) episode in Season 2 will helm it.
The new show will be set in The Mandalorian timeline. It’s currently in production and it’s set to debut in December 2021. The spinoff will be premiering before Season 3 of The Mandalorian.
Boba Fett’s first appearance in the Star Wars universe was in 1980’s Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. The original actor who played Boba, Jeremy Bulloch, passed away last week. Disney promises that “his legacy, including all he brought to Boba Fett, goes on. ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ will carry that legacy forward.”
Other Mandalorian spinoffs include Ahsoka, which will have Rosario Dawson continuing to play Clone Wars Jedi lead Ahsoka Tano and Rangers of the New Republic.

]]>Although we don’t get to see much of the new additions to the cast including Timothy Olyphant, Rosario Dawson, and Temuera Morrison, based on the trailer, we can see that the second season will pick up right where the first season ended with The Mandalorian and The Child continuing their journey and trying to stay safe from the Imperial Remnant officer Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito).
Pedro Pascal’s The Mandalorian is given the task of returning The Child to his home planet.
“The songs of eons past tell of battles between Mandalore the Great and an order of sorcerers called Jedi,” the Armorer tells the Mandalorian.
“You expect me to search the galaxy and return this creature to a race of enemy sorcerers?” he replies.
“This is the way,” she says.
In the trailer, we see a mysterious hooded woman who appears before The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda and then vanishes. The pair are then seen traveling by sea, land, and air and ending up in a sparring match where The Mandalorian battles the bad guys and Baby Yoda hides under his hover-stroller.
Not much else is known about the upcoming season. Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, and Giancarlo Esposito will be returning from Season 1 and Timothy Olyphant, Rosario Dawson, and Temuera Morrison have been added to the cast.
There’s already a third season in the works.
Check out the trailer for Season 2 below.

]]>Disney announced on Twitter that the second season will premier on October 30, 2020. The tweet included a new logo for the show, showing the Child aka Baby Yoda walking alongside Pedro Pascal’s Mando within the show’s title with a blue-hued color scheme. A trailer for the new season, however, is still to be released.
It is still unclear whether the release pace of the episodes will be similar to the first season’s. In the first season, the first two episodes were released in a three-day interval, and the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premiere came right before the final episode. Now, there is no other big outing in the Star Wars universe to affect the schedule.
The channel is due to stream several other Star Wars projects in the coming years. One of them is a show centered around Rogue One’s Cassian Andor and another show about Obi-Wan Kenobi—with Ewan McGregor reprising his role from the prequel trilogy. The Kenobi series’ production schedule was pushed back, however, after it had undergone some rewrites.

Olyphant is also known for his roles on Justified and Deadwood, the former of which he received an Emmy nomination. His film roles include Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Dreamcatcher, The Girl Next Door, Live Free or Die Hard, and Hitman.
Season 2 of The Mandalorian is set to be released later this year and Season 3 is already in the works at Disney+.
The series is about the Mandalorian, played by Pedro Pascal, a bounty hunter on the fringes of the Star Wars universe, and how he becomes the guardian of a mysterious creature known as The Child, or by fans as Baby Yoda.
There are three other Star Wars shows in the works at Disney+, which include the Obi-Wan Kenobi series starring Ewan McGregor, the Cassian Andor series starring Diego Luna, and the recently announced all female-led Star Wars series from Leslye Headland.

]]>Even if you’ve never seen a single Star Wars film (you really have been living in a galaxy far, far away), it’s almost impossible to have escaped the Baby Yoda memes. Each week, screenshots of the infant flooded social media, and he became the toy to gift during the holidays.
Aside from the popularity of The Child (as he is actually termed in the series), the Pedro Pascal-led show won favour from fans and critics alike, scoring a 94% approval ratings on Rotten Tomatoes.
The man who brought us The Mandalorian, Jon Favreau, has now confirmed that season 2 is happening — and it’s not that far in the future. The Lion King director revealed shortly after season 1’s finale that the sophomore season will be coming to Disney+ in Fall 2020.
So far, no other details about the show’s second season have been disclosed, but as long as Baby Yoda is there, we will be too!
