“Twister” Reboot in Development at Universal

Universal Pictures is currently working on rebooting the classic film Twister and they already have their eyes on a director.

The reboot of the 1996 blockbuster is in development and Universal is in talks with Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski.

Plot details for the reboot are still under wraps. The original Twister was executive produced by Steven Spielberg and starred Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt as a storm chasing couple who are close to getting a divorce. They work together to chase dangerous tornadoes to create an advanced weather alert system.

The movie was a huge hit and it made $494 million across box offices worldwide and it was praised for the special effects.

Kosinski’s other directorial credits include Tron: Legacy, which was a huge box office success, and Oblivion starring Tom Cruise.
