James Corden boldly asked the staple Christmas actor whether he was ever worried about his career while filming. Surprisingly, Ferrell confirmed the rumors to be true. Ferrell has admitted that he feared for his career during the filming of Elf.

“Yeah, there were moments,” he admitted. “The first two weeks of shooting were kind of all the exteriors in New York and so, you know, still kind of discovering what this movie’s going to be, and running around New York City in yellow tights.

“People recognizing me from Saturday Night Live going, ‘Are you okay? What’s going on?’ and thinking to myself this is either going to be a home run or people are going to go, ‘Whatever happened to you? Why did you do that one about the elf?’”

He also revealed that cast member James Caan confessed at the film premiere that he thought Ferrell was over the top in his acting. Obviously, after watching the movie back he released that it is the very fact that Will is OTT which makes watching Elf such a pleasure.

If you haven’t watched Elf yet this Christmas, there is still time!
