Lilo & Stitch is the latest Disney classic to get its live-action adaptation and its cast is shaping up to be amazing. The Hangover star Zach Galifianakis joined this exciting project in the role of the alien character Pleakley.

Lilo & Stitch originally premiered in 2002, and it centered on a lonely Hawaiin girl Lilo, who forms an inseparable bond with a dog-like alien named Stitch, who was genetically engineered to cause chaos and destruction. Their strong bond makes him reconsider his purpose and he decides to do everything in his power to protect his new family.

The live-action adaptation of Lilo & Stitch has been in development since 2018 and it went through many changes over time. Directors came and went as release models changed, but the new version is currently being developed by the director of the Oscar-nominated film Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, Dean Fleischer Camp.

Zach Galifianakis is currently the only actor cast in this live-action remake, and he has several more exciting projects on the way. We’ll soon get to see him in Susanna Fogel’s next film Winner, and he’s also been cast in The Beanie Bubble alongside Elizabeth Banks and Sarah Snook.
