It’s just the second non-English language series to break into this category, but it will have to face tough competition in The Crown, Fallout, The Gilded Age, The Morning Show, Mr & Mrs Smith, Slow Horses, and 3 Body Problem.
The Bear made history in the comedy field with a total of 23 nods across Primetime Emmy and Creative Arts Emmy Awards, the most any comedy show received for a single season. As for the limited/anthology series field, True Detective: Night Country is one of the main contenders with a total of 19 nods, including outstanding limited or anthology series, where it’s competing against Baby Reindeer, Lessons in Chemistry, Ripley, and True Detective.
The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards are returning to the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California on September 15.

Prime Video recently renewed The Boys for its fifth season, and its creator Eric Kripke just announced this will be the show’s final chapter. He imagined this series with a five-season arc and said he’s thrilled to bring the story to its gory, epic, emotional climax.
Other projects in this franchise may continue their run, including the spin-off Gen V, but Season 5 felt like the natural ending for the mothership series.

]]>Daniels, who originally co-created The Office for NBC, worked with a team of writers to develop new ideas this summer and eventually joined forces with Koman to create this series. Here’s what we can expect from this spin-off, according to Peacock’s official synopsis:
“The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch is in search of a new subject when they discover a dying historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it with volunteer reporters.”
Domhnall Gleeson (The Patient) and Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) boarded this project before Peacock officially placed a series order. Production will start in 2024, and the ensemble cast will most likely be announced in the meantime.
The Office originally aired on NBC between 2005 and 2013 and went on to become a cult classic in the era of streaming. Steve Carell led its ensemble cast as Michael Scott, the unconventional regional manager of the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

]]>Biel and Banks will play Chloe and Nicky, two sisters who have been estranged for years before a family tragedy brings them together. Their paths cross again after Chloe’s husband Adam is murdered, and the prime suspect sends shockwaves through the family, uncovering long-buried secrets they’ve been trying to hide.
Olivia Milch penned the pilot for this project, and she’s serving as its showrunner alongside Regina Corrado. They’ll both be credited as executive producers, along with Biel and Banks.
Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya, Dumb Money) is coming on board as the director of this project. He’s looking forward to reuniting with Tomorrow Studios, after working together on the Apple TV+ dramedy Physical.
“When I read Olivia and Regina’s propulsive scripts, I knew I wanted to be a part of it, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with these two world-class actresses for the first time. Watching them as rivaling sisters is going to be a blast,” said Gillespie in a statement.

]]>It’s been over two decades since 28 Days Later kicked off this franchise in 2002, and Boyle is finally ready to take us back. The original film starred Cillian Murphy in his breakout role and became a massive hit, inspiring a commercially and critically successful sequel 28 Weeks Later.
After years of anticipation, the third film in this franchise is finally on the way. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but it’s safe to assume that the sequel will be set in the same post-apocalyptic world as its predecessors, impacted by a highly contagious virus.
Boyle is coming on board as a director, while Alex Garland wrote the script. Sony Pictures is reportedly plotting this project as the first part of a trilogy, and they’ve already managed to attract some A-list talent. Emmy winner Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), Golden Globe winner Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Bullet Train), and Oscar nominee Ralph Fiennes (The Grand Budapest Hotel) are the first stars to join this project in mystery roles.

]]>For All Mankind is set in the alternative universe where the United States failed to become the first nation to land the man on the Moon. This eventually led to them losing the space race and changed the course of history as we know it.
In addition to renewing For All Mankind, also ordered a spin-off Star City, described as “a propulsive paranoid thriller” about the Soviet cosmonauts, engineers, and intelligence officers who won the space race in this alt-history retelling.
Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi co-created Star City with Ronald D. Moore, after their fascination with the Soviet space program grew while they were working on For All Mankind.
“The more we learned about this secret city in the forests outside Moscow where the Soviet cosmonauts and engineers worked and lived, the more we wanted to tell this story of the other side of the space race,” said the duo in a statement.
