Daniel Craig has officially signed to reprise the role of James Bond, although he has claimed he will never ever do it again. We don’t know his reasons, but we won’t complain. Still, the latest addition to the James Bond series haven’t signed a director yet.

There were plenty of rumors recently about the directors who could be brought in to bring us the spectacle known as Bond 25. From Yann Demange to Denis Villeneuve and David Mackenzie, it looks like half of Hollywood directors were in the talks at some point. But, the latest news are surely the most exciting ones. According to the sources of Hollywood Life, one of the names that happens to appear frequently is the one of Christopher Nolan.

“They want to take the franchise in a completely different direction” said the HL source. “The producers don’t want him to be the ladies’ man he has been known for and actually want him to get married. Everyone feels Christopher would be the best to steer the film in the direction they are seeking.”

Nolan is one of the most accomplished directors of his generation and there is no doubt that he would be a perfect fit to make a movie about an iconic character like James Bond. These rumors may not be far from the truth, especially since Nolan previously stated that he likes James Bond and confirmed that he would be interested in directing a movie.

“A Bond movie, definitely,” Nolan said earlier this year while doing an interview with Playboy. “I’ve spoken to the producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson over the years. I deeply love the character, and I’m always excited to see what they do with it. Maybe one day that would work out. You’d have to be needed, if you know what I mean. It has to need reinvention; it has to need you. And they’re getting along very well.”
