Emily Blunt Says “Edge of Tomorrow 2” Might Just Happen

Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt in "Edge of Tomorrow"

Edge of Tomorrow, the 2014 sci-fi thriller starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, was not an immediate success when it was originally released, but over the years, it gained much affection. This has led to the inevitable demand for a sequel and it seems both audiences and creators are rooting for it to happen. The Edge of tomorrow 2 project has even gotten a name over the years: Live, Die, Repeat and Repeat.

In a recent interview with IndieWire, Blunt said a sequel might happen in the end. I think there’s an idea, that he says is great. And he says this guy came in and cracked the case. How the stars will all align for us to be able to do it. I don’t know. I hope they do.”

The “he” blunt refers to is probably Matthew Robinson, the co-director and co-writer of The invention of Lying who pitched an idea for the sequel and was brought to write the sequel.

It seems Blunt remembers the first movie fondly.  “I absolutely adored it,” she said. “It broke my body in half, but I’d be willing to do it again to work with those boys who I love. So let’s see.”
