Let’s venture to a galaxy far far away…

Yesterday during Super Bowl LII, Disney released the first trailer for the long-awaited Star Wars film, Solo:A Star Wars Story. The trailer starts off with a commander asking Han Solo “So you want to make a difference. So which branch do you want to join” in which Solo responds” I’m going to be a pilot. The best [pilot] in the galaxy.” The trailer features the iconic Star Wars battles, characters and of course the Millennium Falcon.

The film is directed by Ron Howard and stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Woody Harrelson as Beckett, a smuggler and Han’s mentor, Emilia Clarke as Qi’ra and Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian. The film is centered on a young Han Solo and the events before his involvement with Luke Skywalker and Obi Wan Kenobi in Star Wars Episode IV.

What was most shocking to fans was the release date. Fans were expecting the Han Solo film to be released in late 2018 closer to December, but they were glad that the release date was May 25th, 2018. This would be the first time since Disney acquired Lucas Film in 2012, that there are two Star Wars films released in theaters less than six months apart.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Fans were very worried when directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller were fired because of “creative differences” with the studio back in June 2017. But thankfully, the studio hired award winning filmmaker Ron Howard to finish the Han Solo film. Howard stated that “Thought we were in trouble there for a second. But it’s fine. We’re fine.”
