It is no secret that many fans are upset with how the final season of Game of Thrones has progressed.

While it is a given that not everyone is going to be satisfied, numerous people have argued that season 8 feels completely out of line with the rest of the series — reversals of character development, events moving too quickly, and even plot points that make no sense (we’re looking at you, Mad Queen…)

But thousands of fans now want to change that.

A petition has been created, urging HBO to remake the season with “competent writers”. They believe that creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss “lost the plot” when the television show surpassed the books written by George R.R. Martin.

“David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on,” the petition reads. “This series deserves a final season that makes sense. Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!”

So far, almost 500,000 people have signed the petition.
