The fourth season of The Handmaid’s Tale was one wild ride, and this hit series is finally coming back to Hulu this fall. The streamer gave us a taste of things to come with first-look photos from Season 5 and confirmed that the series will return on September 14.

The upcoming fifth season will see June (Elisabeth Moss) face the consequences of her actions after killing Commander Waterford. The first look photo shows her dressed in white, staring intensely at the camera with an angry and determined look on her face. The second photo gives us a glimpse of widowed Serena (Yvonne Strahovski), wearing all black while mourning her husband’s death, but her smile is as peaceful as can be.

Many fans have wondered if the upcoming fifth season will be the show’s last, but The Handmaid’s Tale creator Bruce Miller said he won’t rush the ending because he enjoys working with the incredible team that made this show happen.

“Honestly, yes, I know what the end is and I’m not going to overstay my welcome but I’m also not going to rush off if I don’t have to because as long as I am writing for Elisabeth Moss, you know, it really doesn’t get much better,” Miller explained in an interview for Deadline’s Contenders TV virtual event.
