According to its official synopsis, The Regime “tells the story of one year within the walls of the palace of a modern European regime as it begins to unravel.” Winslet plays the Chancellor of a fictional European autocracy, doing everything in her power to stay in control when her position is threatened by domestic turmoil.

In addition to Winslet in the lead role, the star-studded cast of The Regime also includes Andrea Riseborough (To Leslie) Matthias Schoenaerts (The Old Guard), Martha Plimpton (Sprung), Guillaume Gallienne (Me, Myself and Mum), and Hugh Grant (The Udoing). Danny Webb, David Bamber, Henry Goodman, and Stanley Townsend also star.
