Katy Perry did a really good job teasing her upcoming album Smile, but we’ll have to wait for it a little bit longer than we thought. The singer’s new album’s release is postponed but luckily, she already shared the new release date.

Smile is currently scheduled to come out on August 28th, two weeks after the previously announced date. Perry shared the news of the delay with a silly photo that shows her being hit in the face by a pie.

“Welp. I hate to throw this bad news at you like a pie in the face… but if there’s anything 2020 taught me, it’s to not get too attached to plans and be malleable,” wrote the singer on Instagram, adding her album will come out two weeks later “due to unavoidable production delays.”

Perry thanked her fans for their patience and announced she’ll be doing a 30-minute live video every Sunday leading up to album release. She previously teased it with singles “Never Really Over”, “Harleys in Hawaii”, “Daisies” and “Smile”.
