If you’re always in the mood to watch another amazing space epic, Netflix’s next collaboration with Adam Sandler will be your cup of tea. The Golden Globe-nominated actor wrestles with his inner demons on the edge of the solar system in the first trailer for “Spaceman”.
Based on Jaroslav Kalfar’s novel Spaceman of Bohemia, this film kicks off six months into Jakub’s (Sandler) solitary research mission to the edge of the solar system. The solitude helps him come to a realization that his marriage is falling apart and that his wife Lenka (Carey Mulligan) might not be waiting for him when he returns to Earth.
Jakub decides to take a drastic step and enlist Hanuš (voiced by Paul Dano), a mysterious creature from the beginning of time he finds hiding in the bowels of his ship, for help.
In addition to Sandler, Mulligan, and Dano, this film will also star Kunal Nayyar, Lena Olin, and Isabella Rossellini. It’s only the latest in the long line of Sandler’s projects with Netflix, following the Murder Mystery franchise, Hustle, and You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah.
Spaceman will premiere at the upcoming Berlin International Film Festival in February, and it’ll start streaming on Netflix on March 1.
