Exactly 25 years after winning a Palme d’Or for his cult classic Pulp Fiction, Quentin Tarantino will be competing for this award once again. His latest film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, is set to premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

Festival president Thierry Frémaux admitted they were afraid that Tarantino’s latest won’t be ready in time, but the director and his team spent the last four months in the editing room, doing everything in their power to make it work.

“In addition to thanking Quentin and his crew for spending days and nights in the editing room, the festival wants to give special thanks to the teams at Sony Pictures, who made all of this possible,” said Frémaux in an official statement.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood has been described as Tarantino’s “tribute to the final moments of Hollywood’s golden age.” It takes place in 1969 Los Angeles and centers on faded television actor and his stunt double who are trying to make a name for themselves in Hollywood.

This highly-anticipated thriller boasts an impressive ensemble of A-list stars, led by Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Margot Robbie. It will make its way to the theaters on July 26, and it’s still unclear if it’s going to be shown at any other festivals after Cannes.
