Sacha Baron Cohen has a very pleasant surprise for his fans—reportedly he just finished filming Borat 2. This report follows last month’s report that he was caught in character as the bumbling Journalist. Cohen was spotted driving a truck dressed as Borat with a filming crew following in a different car.
According to Collider, the movie was already screened for a few industry executives and it may be released later this year.
In the first movie, Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, the journalist traveled to the U.S. in order to make a documentary. Now, he is made aware of his garnered infamy from the first movie and goes “undercover”. It is described as “Cohen playing Borat playing Cohen”.
It may be surprising to see a second Borat movie as most of the first one’s humor hangs on the character not being recognized. This undercover strategy may be the way the comedian uses to solve this problem.
The last time Cohen appeared as Borat was in November 2019 on a sketch on Jimmy Kimmel Live! About election tampering.
