Scooby Dooby has some work to do and his friends are coming along for the ride.

Warner Bros. is making a new film about the canine detective and his crew who often find that monsters are just criminals in disguise.

It is not the first time that Scooby Doo has hit the big screen.

Two live-action feature films were made in 2002 and 2004 starring Matthew Lillard, Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Linda Cardellini.

The newest edition will be a throwback to the original cartoon from the 70s.

The animated version, entitled Scooby, will be helmed by veteran animation director Tony Cervone, based on a script by Matt Lieberman who has penned the upcoming animation The Addams Family.

Jane the Virgin actress, Gina Rodriguez, has signed on as the voice of Velma, and will now be joined by Will Forte of The Last Man on Earth as the voice of Scooby’s ride-or-die, Shaggy.

Frank Welker, who has voiced the dog on many occasions, will do so again, while What Men Want actor will star as a character named Captain Caveman.

The roles of Fred and Daphne have yet to be announced.
