We can always count on Stranger Things creators to prepare a special surprise when we need it the most, and they did it again this New Year’s Eve. Netflix announced premiere date for season 3, with a creepy countdown teaser.

A short clip promises “one summer can change everything” so it’s only fitting it will premiere during the most festive holiday of the season. Stranger Things 3 is coming back on Independence Day – July 4, 2019.

The teaser doesn’t reveal much of the plot since it’s another nostalgia-filled visual as we’re used to getting from the marketing team behind this series. It’s filled with VHS tape tracking lines and warped audio, and it shows New Year’s Eve countdown video from 1985.

This announcement comes shortly after Netflix announced the titles of the upcoming episodes in a separate teaser – Suzie, Do You Copy?, The Mall Rats, The Case of the Missing Lifeguard, The Sauna Test, The Source, The Birthday, The Bite, and The Battle of Starcourt.

Once again, these titles don’t reveal much, but that’s not stopping us from being super-excited about chapter 3 as the cast and crew of Stranger Things never disappointed us before.
