This film hails from writer and director Benny Safdie, and it follows the journey of the MMA champion Mark Kerr. This biopic will take us to the no-holds-barred era of the UFC, and see the legendary fighter struggle with addiction, winning, love, and friendship in the year 2000.

Blunt and Johnson have proven to be quite a dynamic duo while co-starring in Disney’s Jungle Cruise in 2021. Despite mixed reviews and modest box office gains, Disney greenlit the sequel of this fantasy adventure film, with the leading duo reprising their roles.

Pain Hustlers hails from the Harry Potter series director David Yates and draws inspiration from Evan Hughes’ New York Times Magazine article and its follow-up book The Hard Sell. It’s been compared to such movies as American Hustle and The Big Short, and here’s what it has in store, according to Netflix’s official synopsis.

“Dreaming of a better life for her and her young daughter, Liza (Blunt) lands a job from Pete (Evans) at a failing pharma start-up, where Liza’s charm, drive, and guts catapult her into the high life and the company into the center of a criminal conspiracy with dire consequences.”

In addition to the leading duo, this project also stars Andy Garcia, Catherine O’Hara, Jay Duplass, Brian d’Arcy James, Chloe Coleman, Amit Shah, Aubrey Dollar, and Willie Raysor.

Pain Hustlers will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next week before heading to theatres on October 20 and being released on Netflix on October 27.

Years later, the director of the Institute for Advanced Study was persecuted by the anti-communist US government after he opposed the development of the hydrogen bomb. 

The biopic is based on the book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer which was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 2005.

This film marks the first collaboration between Blunt and Evans, but they came very close to working together on several occasions. Blunt famously passed on the role of Black Widow in the MCU, played by Scarlett Johansson, while Evans was attached to star in her film The Girl on the Train in 2016 before dropping out due to scheduling conflicts.

Evans is no stranger to collaboration with Netflix, and this won’t be his first project with the streamer—we’ll soon get to see him in The Gray Man, also starring Ryan Gosling and Ana de Armas.

Earlier this month, the Tenet filmmaker revealed that his next project would be a biopic of J. Robert Oppenheimer who is acknowledged as the “father of the atomic bomb”.

The project, titled Oppenheimer, is Nolan’s first film produced by Universal which has described the film as an “epic thriller that thrusts audiences into the pulse-pounding paradox of the enigmatic man who must risk destroying the world in order to save it.”

Cillian Murphy, who previously worked with the Oscar nominee on Inception, Batman Begins, and Dunkirk, has already been cast in the titular role, and it has now been announced that Emily Blunt will star opposite him. 

The Wild Mountain Thyme actress will portray the physicist’s wife, Katherine Oppenheimer. It will also reunite Blunt with her A Quiet Place II co-star.

Oppenheimer is scheduled to begin filming next year, ahead of a July 21, 2023 release.

This horror sequel managed to continue its box office triumph despite tough competition, especially from new movies such as In the Heights and Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway.

A Quiet Place Part II premiered in the U.S. on May 28th. Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe reprised their roles from the first movie, with the director John Krasinski making a brief appearance and Cillian Murphy joining the cast. The sequel was hailed as a worthy successor to A Quiet Place and received praise from the critics.

The movie’s ending left room for a potential third installment, and Blunt previously said Krasinski has an idea for a follow-up. The spin-off of the original movie is also being developed right now, and it’s set to be directed by Jeff Nichols.

According to Golden Globe Award-winning actress, although these types of movies are “not up my alley,” she would consider taking a part in the right project. “It would just have to be something so cool … and then I would be interested,” she added.

There have been multiple attempts to adapt Fantastic 4 to the big screen in the past. The first one was in 1994 when Constantin Film made a movie in order to retain the film rights to the comic. The feature was never released, although a bootleg copy has been made available in the following years.

The second adaptation came in 2005 when Tim Story took it upon himself to direct a Fantastic 4 movie with Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, and Michael Chiklis starring. The movie was a modest commercial success and was followed by the sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

A reboot, directed by Josh Trank, was released in 2015 and was met with poor reviews while bombing at the box office.
