]]>Oldman was promoting his Apple TV+ spy show Slow Horses during a recent interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, and the host Josh Horowitz asked him how he felt about his portrayal of Harry Potter’s godfather Sirius Black in this magical movie franchise.
“I think my work is mediocre in it. No, I do. Maybe if I had read the books like Alan [Rickman, who played Professor Snape], if I had got ahead of the curve, if I had known what’s coming, I honestly think I would have played it differently,” explained Oldman.
The Oscar-winner also added that he’s his own biggest critic and that he never thinks he’s amazing in anything because he wants “to make the next thing better.” He previously told Drew Barrymore that the roles in the Harry Potter and The Dark Knight franchise saved him because he could “do the least amount of work for the most amount of money and then be home with the kids.”
Oldman made his debut as Sirius Black in the third film Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, directed by Alfonso Cuarón, and reprised it in two more sequels.

The project officially got a green light during a recent Warner Bros. Discovery press conference, and it’s been described as a faithful adaptation with a brand-new cast.
J.K. Rowling will executive produce the project alongside Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts, and she’s excited to invite a whole new generation of fans into the Harry Potter universe.
“Max’s commitment to preserving the integrity of my books is important to me, and I’m looking forward to being part of this new adaptation which will allow for a degree of depth and detail only afforded by a long-form television series,” said Rowling in a statement.
Seven bestselling Harry Potter books sold around 600 copies worldwide, and they’ve already been adapted into a successful movie franchise. After the quiz show wraps up, the streamer will air a retrospective special produced by Casey Patterson. Further details about the special are yet to be revealed.
“To celebrate the dedicated fans old and new who have passionately kept the Wizarding World magic alive in so many forms for decades, these exciting specials will celebrate their Harry Potter fandom in a must-see multiplatform TV event,” said Warner Bros. Global Kids, Young Adults and Classics president Tom Ascheim in a statement.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was released in 2001 and served as the first entry in the Harry Potter film franchise, which is based on the books by J. K. Rowling. The movie was a huge hit earning more than $1 billion at the box office. At the time, it was the second-highest-grossing feature in the history of cinema.
The quiz and special might not be the only projects HBO Max has in store for Harry Potter fans. According to multiple reports, the streamer entered the early stages of development for a live-action TV series based on the world of Harry Potter. ]]>A Harry Potter series is in very early development at HBO Max. No writers or talent have been attached to the project, but sources say conversations between multiple writers on a potential series have taken place. There’s also no word on the focus of the series and what part of the Harry Potter timeline would be featured.
At this time, no deals have been made, which was echoed by HBO Max and Warner Bros. in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “There are no Harry Potter series in development at the studio or on the streaming platform.”
The Harry Potter book series is one of the most popular of all time, with all seven books in the series selling over 500 million copies worldwide. The books were adapted into an eight-film franchise, which grossed almost $8 billion worldwide. So far, there have been two films in the prequel spinoff Fantastic Beasts, with a third of five scheduled for a 2022 debut.
The news to develop shows within the Harry Potter world is not surprising as streaming wars have been taking place between companies. Disney announced tons of shows set within the Marvel, Star Wars, Disney, and Pixar Animation worlds and HBO Max has multiple DC Comics shows in the works.

This choice of roles has subsequently led people to wonder if Radcliffe would be interested in taking on any other biopics.
Speaking with Fox News, Radcliffe said: “If you’re talking like dream thing, who would it be fun to play and which songs it would be great to sing, then I suppose it’d be David Bowie.
“But I’m not actually submitting myself for that. I don’t think I’d be good, and I certainly think there are people that’d be better. And also, we don’t need to make a film about everyone’s life.”
He added: “If it was a musician that I loved as well, there would also be this sort of twin pressure of I don’t want to screw up a movie about my favorite musician.”
In conclusion, Radcliffe would love to play Bowie except not really, because it’s too much pressure.

Now, he has confessed that he consequently can’t watch the movie or any of the instalments which follow.
“I think those early ones are OK. More time has passed. I can detach myself a bit more from that kid. I did see Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone not long ago, for the first time since the premiere, and I actually enjoyed looking back.”
When it comes to the later films though, he can’t quite bring himself to watch: “But the more recent ones I definitely couldn’t do,” he said. “I could probably go up to [third film] Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban.”
Part of the reason he struggles is due to the impact playing the character had on him. Grint added: “I struggle to remember life before it. I think I lost myself a little bit along the way. With the fame, you’re almost being the character even when you’re not in character.”
Even though Rupert Grint can’t watch the movies, we’re still planning to finish the Harry Potter franchise in time for the new year.

Nagini is a Sanskrit name and actually describes a half-woman, half-snake creature from Indian mythology.
Which fits perfect if you’ve seen the latest trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald which reveals that the terrifying snake was originally a woman — played by Claudia Kim — who is a Maledictus meaning a human who slowly transforms into an animal as a result of a blood curse.
By the time Nagini meets Harry and his friends and becomes a Horcrux for Voldemort, she is completely a reptile — both in body and mind.
They're different conditions. Maledictuses are always women, whereas werewolves can be either sex. The Maledictus carries a blood curse from birth, which is passed down from mother to daughter. https://t.co/wYfvPeQFRW
