]]>Written by James Vanderbilt and set to be directed by Ritchie, Fountain of Youth centers on two estranged siblings, who must join forces and use their knowledge of history to follow clues on an epic quest for a mythological fountain of youth, that could possibly lead them to immortality.
This project has been developed from the first-look partnership between Apple and Skydance Media, and Vinson Films and Project X Entertainment are also coming on board to produce. Ritchie and Krasinski have both been circling the film since the summer, while Portman agreed to come on board after she had to shift her schedule post-strikes.
Portman most recently appeared in Todd Haynes’ May December alongside Julianne Moore and Charles Melton, and will soon star in the Apple TV+ mini-series Lady in the Lake. Krasinski wrapped up Amazon Prime Video’s action series Jack Ryan last year, and he’s gearing up for the release of his next film IF, which he also wrote and directed.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Krasinski revealed he started working on IF because he wanted to make a film his children could watch. ]]>In addition to hitting the $100 million mark at the domestic box office, A Quiet Place Part II is close to earning $200 million on the international box office. This horror sequel managed to continue its box office triumph despite tough competition, especially from new movies such as In the Heights and Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway.
A Quiet Place Part II premiered in the U.S. on May 28th. Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe reprised their roles from the first movie, with the director John Krasinski making a brief appearance and Cillian Murphy joining the cast. The sequel was hailed as a worthy successor to A Quiet Place and received praise from the critics.
The movie’s ending left room for a potential third installment, and Blunt previously said Krasinski has an idea for a follow-up. The spin-off of the original movie is also being developed right now, and it’s set to be directed by Jeff Nichols.

]]>The movie won’t follow the story from the first two entries, rather focusing on the expansion of the A Quiet Place universe. It will be based on the idea of director John Krasinski, but he won’t be returning to the same role. Jeff Nichols (Take Shelter, Mud) will step in to helm the project and will also serve as a writer.
The third entry in the franchise is believed to be still in the early stages of development. Krasinski did, however, tell Rotten Tomatoes’ Erik Davis that Nichols already handed the first draft of the script.
Co-written and directed by Krasinski, A Quiet Place became a surprise hit when it first came out in 2018. It received universal critical acclaim and earned $341 million compared to just a $21 million budget, prompting the studio to immediately start working on the sequel.
Krasinksi and most of the cast from the original came back for A Quiet Place Part II, which received a worldwide theatrical release in May. The movie set several post-pandemic records and has been getting positive reviews.

This underrated family movie sees Krasinski and Drew Barrymore’s characters joining forces in an attempt to save a family of gray whales in Alaska.
This retelling of the events that took place during the 1967 Detroit riots didn’t get the attention it deserved, but it’s worth watching for Kathryn Bigelow’s great direction and its amazing ensemble cast.
