Midnights was in the running for album of the year alongside SZA’s SOS, Boygenius’ The Record, and Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts, and managed to beat them all and take the trophy home. Swift thanked her fans in her acceptance speech and revealed that her next album The Tortured Poets Department will be out on April 19.

It was also a big night for Miley Cyrus, who picked up the record of the year trophy with “Flowers”. This smash hit was also in the running for song of the year, but it lost out to Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?”. Victoria Monét also emerged as the winner in to big four categories after collecting a Grammy for the best new artist.

Phoebe Bridgers, who came into the night with seven nominations, was the ceremony’s top winner with four trophies, including three with Boygenius. SZA, Victoria Monét, and Killer Mike also walked away with three awards by the end of the night.

The 2024 Grammy Awards returned to the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 4, with Trevor Noah serving as a host.

With 26.1 billion global streams this year, Taylor Swift emerged as Spotify’s most-streamed artist of the year, and they came up with a perfect way to mark the occasion.

“In the 48 hours leading up to this crowning moment, Spotify revealed 21 puzzle pieces with Taylor Swift-themed easter eggs in billboards from Sao Paulo to Jakarta. These clues culminated in a spotlight video that included nods to her universe – featuring everything from cats to her infamous red lips,” reads Spotify’s press release.

Bad Bunny made history this year with his album Un Verano Sin Ti. Despite being released back in spring 2022, the Puerto Rican’s chart-topping record managed to become the most-streamed album in the world for the second year in a row, with 4.5 billion global streams.

As for the list of the most-streamed songs of the year, Miley Cyrus generated 1.6 billion streams with her smash hit “Flowers”, defeating tough competition in SZA’s “Kill Bill” and Harry Styles’ “As It Was”.

“Flowers” hit the shelves on January 12, and went on to spend eight non-consecutive weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 after becoming Cyrus’ second No. 1 hit in the US. The live rendition of “Flowers” was included in the concert special Endless Summer Vacation (Backyard Sessions), but Cyrus never sang it live until her Chateau Marmont performance.

Cyrus’ reluctance to perform her music live doesn’t come as a surprise to her fans after she told Vogue she doesn’t intend to go back to touring anytime soon. Cyrus told the magazine there’s no connection or safety in performing in front of 100,000 all on her own, and later clarified her statement on social media.

“Even if I don’t see them face to face every night at a concert, my fans are felt deeply in my heart. This has nothing to do with a lack of appreciation for the fans & everything to do with I simply don’t want to get ready in a locker room, which is the reality of life on the road,” she explained.

Cyrus showered Eilish with praise in a new interview with Sunday Mirror and said she’s definitely at the top of the list of people she’d like to work with.

“What impressed me so much is that she is already an authentic artist. She knows exactly the story she wants to tell and exactly the message she wants to express in her work. I’m in total awe of her,” she told Sunday Mirror.

Cyrus also added that Eilish’s authenticity at such a young age is something that separates her from herself. The former Disney star explained she didn’t know who she was as an artist and was still being heavily influenced by others when she was Eilish’s age.

Cyrus worked with everyone from Dolly Parton and Elton John to Dua Lipa and Ariana Grande in recent years, but she didn’t need to rely on high-profile collaborations to make her latest album pop. Endless Summer Vacation came out back in March and produced the hit single “Flowers”, which became Cyrus’ longest-running no. 1 single with eight weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

“Wrecking Ball” was initially released in 2013, as a single from Cyrus’ seminal album Bangerz, and Parton revealed she almost wept when she heard it for the first time.

“When it started into the chorus it hit me like a wrecking ball! I thought how great can a song be and how great can Miley Cyrus be? I thought, I have to have that song on my rock album and I have to have Miley sing it with me! I love it and I hope you do,” wrote Parton on social media.

This isn’t the first time Parton and Cyrus sang “Wrecking Ball” by each other side. This amazing duo joined forces during Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party back in January, and delivered a powerful rendition of this song, which concluded with a tribute to Parton’s classic “I Will Always Love You”.

The “Wrecking Ball” cover will be featured on Parton’s upcoming album Rockstar, set to hit the shelves on November 17. This album will include nine original songs and 21 covers of rock classics, marking Parton’s first foray into this genre.

Cyrus revealed that she wrote “Used To Be Young” before she started working on her latest album Endless Summer Vacation two years ago, during a time when she felt really misunderstood.

“The time has arrived to release a song that I could perfect forever. Although my work is done, this song will continue to write itself everyday. The fact it remains unfinished is a part of its beauty. That is my life at this moment….. unfinished yet complete,” she explained on Instagram.

Cyrus’ new single will hit the shelves on August 25, and she’ll celebrate its release with an ABC special Endless Summer Vacation: Continued (Backyard Sessions).

Midnights was in the running for album of the year alongside SZA’s SOS, Boygenius’ The Record, and Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts, and managed to beat them all and take the trophy home. Swift thanked her fans in her acceptance speech and revealed that her next album The Tortured Poets Department will be out on April 19.

It was also a big night for Miley Cyrus, who picked up the record of the year trophy with “Flowers”. This smash hit was also in the running for song of the year, but it lost out to Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?”. Victoria Monét also emerged as the winner in to big four categories after collecting a Grammy for the best new artist.

Phoebe Bridgers, who came into the night with seven nominations, was the ceremony’s top winner with four trophies, including three with Boygenius. SZA, Victoria Monét, and Killer Mike also walked away with three awards by the end of the night.

The 2024 Grammy Awards returned to the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 4, with Trevor Noah serving as a host.

With 26.1 billion global streams this year, Taylor Swift emerged as Spotify’s most-streamed artist of the year, and they came up with a perfect way to mark the occasion.

“In the 48 hours leading up to this crowning moment, Spotify revealed 21 puzzle pieces with Taylor Swift-themed easter eggs in billboards from Sao Paulo to Jakarta. These clues culminated in a spotlight video that included nods to her universe – featuring everything from cats to her infamous red lips,” reads Spotify’s press release.

Bad Bunny made history this year with his album Un Verano Sin Ti. Despite being released back in spring 2022, the Puerto Rican’s chart-topping record managed to become the most-streamed album in the world for the second year in a row, with 4.5 billion global streams.

As for the list of the most-streamed songs of the year, Miley Cyrus generated 1.6 billion streams with her smash hit “Flowers”, defeating tough competition in SZA’s “Kill Bill” and Harry Styles’ “As It Was”.

“Flowers” hit the shelves on January 12, and went on to spend eight non-consecutive weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 after becoming Cyrus’ second No. 1 hit in the US. The live rendition of “Flowers” was included in the concert special Endless Summer Vacation (Backyard Sessions), but Cyrus never sang it live until her Chateau Marmont performance.

Cyrus’ reluctance to perform her music live doesn’t come as a surprise to her fans after she told Vogue she doesn’t intend to go back to touring anytime soon. Cyrus told the magazine there’s no connection or safety in performing in front of 100,000 all on her own, and later clarified her statement on social media.

“Even if I don’t see them face to face every night at a concert, my fans are felt deeply in my heart. This has nothing to do with a lack of appreciation for the fans & everything to do with I simply don’t want to get ready in a locker room, which is the reality of life on the road,” she explained.

Cyrus showered Eilish with praise in a new interview with Sunday Mirror and said she’s definitely at the top of the list of people she’d like to work with.

“What impressed me so much is that she is already an authentic artist. She knows exactly the story she wants to tell and exactly the message she wants to express in her work. I’m in total awe of her,” she told Sunday Mirror.

Cyrus also added that Eilish’s authenticity at such a young age is something that separates her from herself. The former Disney star explained she didn’t know who she was as an artist and was still being heavily influenced by others when she was Eilish’s age.

Cyrus worked with everyone from Dolly Parton and Elton John to Dua Lipa and Ariana Grande in recent years, but she didn’t need to rely on high-profile collaborations to make her latest album pop. Endless Summer Vacation came out back in March and produced the hit single “Flowers”, which became Cyrus’ longest-running no. 1 single with eight weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

“Wrecking Ball” was initially released in 2013, as a single from Cyrus’ seminal album Bangerz, and Parton revealed she almost wept when she heard it for the first time.

“When it started into the chorus it hit me like a wrecking ball! I thought how great can a song be and how great can Miley Cyrus be? I thought, I have to have that song on my rock album and I have to have Miley sing it with me! I love it and I hope you do,” wrote Parton on social media.

This isn’t the first time Parton and Cyrus sang “Wrecking Ball” by each other side. This amazing duo joined forces during Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party back in January, and delivered a powerful rendition of this song, which concluded with a tribute to Parton’s classic “I Will Always Love You”.

The “Wrecking Ball” cover will be featured on Parton’s upcoming album Rockstar, set to hit the shelves on November 17. This album will include nine original songs and 21 covers of rock classics, marking Parton’s first foray into this genre.

Cyrus revealed that she wrote “Used To Be Young” before she started working on her latest album Endless Summer Vacation two years ago, during a time when she felt really misunderstood.

“The time has arrived to release a song that I could perfect forever. Although my work is done, this song will continue to write itself everyday. The fact it remains unfinished is a part of its beauty. That is my life at this moment….. unfinished yet complete,” she explained on Instagram.

Cyrus’ new single will hit the shelves on August 25, and she’ll celebrate its release with an ABC special Endless Summer Vacation: Continued (Backyard Sessions).

“This time with a retrospective interview sharing stories about the first 30 years of my life in honor of U2BY. This song is dedicated to my loyal fans. I love YOU for loving every version of ME. Always, Miley,” she wrote on social media.

Cyrus recently set down with British Vogue to discuss her latest album Endless Summer Vacation. She touched upon many subjects in this cover story, including why she hasn’t headlined an arena tour ever since her Bangerz Tour in 2014.

Cyrus told the magazine that she has no desire to embark on a massive world tour because she doesn’t want to live her life for anyone else’s pleasure or fulfillment other than her own.

“Singing for hundreds of thousands of people isn’t really the thing that I love. There’s no connection. There’s no safety… It’s also not natural. It’s so isolating because if you’re in front of 100,000 people then you are alone,” she told British Vogue.

The Bangerz Tour was Cyrus’ last major headlining world tour, and she shifted her focus to more intimate shows in recent years. Her latest Attention Tour last year only included a handful of dates in North and South America.
