Additionally, we are working on several contingency plans to bring music’s biggest night to audiences everywhere.”
If the show doesn’t happen later this year, it will be the first time MTV hasn’t had an award show since it began in 1991.
Last year’s big winners were Avengers: Endgame for best movie and Game of Thrones for best show. Lady Gaga won the award for best movie performance in A Star is Born and Elizabeth Moss won for best TV performance in The Handmaid’s Tale.

]]>The School of Rock actor is set to receive the award for Comedic Genius at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards which takes place next month.
The honor means that the 52-year-old comedian follows in the footsteps of previous winners Sacha Baron Cohen, Melissa McCarthy, Kevin Hart, and Will Ferrell.
Although Black is known for making audiences laugh in films like Kung Fu Panda, the new Jumanji franchise, and The Holiday, his comedic prowess extends past movies. In 1994, he and Kyle Glass formed the comedy rock duo Tenacious D which has released four albums and even won a Grammy Award.
Tick, Tick… Boom! star Vanessa Hudgens will return as the host of this year’s MTV Movie & TV Awards on June 5.

]]>MTV is currently thinking about airing the Video Music Awards in August at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and they told Variety earlier this month that they plan on taking the necessary health precautions to ensure everyone’s safety, “The health of everyone involved is our number one priority.
