The post Sarah Michelle Gellar Joins “Teen Wolf” Spinoff Series “Wolf Pack” appeared first on EverydayKoala.
]]>Gellar joined several stars of Paramount+’s Teen Wolf: The Movie, including Tyler Posey and Tyler Hoechlin, at the panel in San Diego, and it turned out she was there for a pretty good reason. She’s set to play a key role in another project from the Teen Wolf creator Jeff Davis.
Wolf Pack is based on Edo Van Belkom’s book series of the same name, which centers on two teens (Armani Jackson and Bella Shepard), whose lives turn upside down after a California wildfire awakens a terrifying supernatural creature.
Gellar will join them as investigator Kristin Ramsey, described as “a highly regarded expert in her field and no stranger to personal loss, brought in by authorities to catch the teenage arsonist who started a massive wildfire which may have also led to the reawakening of a supernatural predator terrorizing Los Angeles.”
Gellar is no stranger to the supernatural genre and her casting in this project will give you nostalgia overload if you loved watching her in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

]]>22 years after Cruel Intentions hit the big screen, a remake is heading to the small screen at Amazon’s IMDb TV.
The original film, based on the 1782 novel Dangerous Liasions, was set at a prestigious New York City high school where step-siblings Katherine and Sebastian—played by Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe, respectively—place a bet on who can seduce the daughter of the headmaster played by Reese Witherspoon.
This is not the first time that a television adaptation of the movie was in the works. In 2015, NBC planned a continuation series about Sebastian’s son that would see Gellar reviving her role as Katherine, but it was shelved before it got off the ground.
The new series will be a reboot set at an elite college in Washington DC and will be written by Phoebe Fisher from Euphoria and Sara Goodman of the original Gossip Girl.

]]>Gellar played the titular role in the original series that went on for seven seasons before wrapping up in 2003. She also portrayed the character of Buffy Summers in the show’s spin-off Angel on several occasions.
While Gellar would like to see the story of Buffy The Vampire Slayer continue, the 43-year-old actress thinks someone younger would be more fit for that task.
“I don’t think it’s me, I don’t think I should be the one doing it,” she added.
During its original run, Buffy The Vampire Slayer was considered one of the best shows on television and is still frequently a part of “The Best TV Shows” lists. It had a significant influence on television and culture, being considered the “most studied pop culture work by academics.”
There has been chatter about the show’s reboot for the better part of the past decade, with the project officially being announced in 2018. Since then, however, there haven’t been many follow-up details.

The series, titled, Other People’s Houses, hails from Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder and is based on a novel by Abbi Waxman.
Described as a dramedy, “somewhere between Big Little Lies and Catastrophe,” Other People’s Houses follows “nine people who live in Los Angeles’ Larchmont Village neighborhood.” The characters “navigate the emotional ups and downs of being parents, partners, neighbors and friends,” through social media, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Oscar-nominated writer Robin Swicord (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) will pen the big-screen adaptation and DeGeneres and Gellar are set to executive produce. Warner Bros. TV will produce. At this time, no network is attached to the series.
Since doing Buffy, Gellar has only done two other series — the CW’s Ringer and CBS’ The Crazy Ones with Robin Williams.

It was confirmed in July that Whedon would be producing a remake of the much-loved show —without the original cast — much to the hesitancy and anger of the series’ fans.
But perhaps their opinion will change now that the reboot has been endorsed by none other than Sarah herself.
The former slayer told PEOPLE: “At the end of the day, it’s all about great storytelling. If a story lives on, then I think it should be told in any incarnation it can be told in.”
Her co-star and on-screen love interest, David Boreanaz, agreed, saying to fans at New York Comic Con, “Come on, guys. It’s a good thing. Let’s just embrace [it]. I’m very happy for them. They want to embrace a new generation, something new… I’m all for it. I think it’s fantastic. Good for them. I hope that it becomes huge and successful.”
Let’s hope the fans change their minds.

]]>Long before vampires sparkled in the sun, Sarah Michelle Gellar kicked butt as Buffy Summers whose mission was to rid her hometown of Sunnydale of evil vampires, demons, and other dark forces.
The series, created by Joss Whedon, ran between 1997 and 2003 and was praised for its depiction of strong female leads.
Now, Buffy herself has acknowledged the feminism of the show by putting an anniversary post on Instagram that also featured some never-before-seen photos from the set of the supernatural dramedy.
Sarah partly captioned the post with, “I have always believed that the world is changed by your example, not by your opinion,” which her character proved many times and still serves as great advice.
Other stars of the series also paid tribute, including Charisma Carpenter who played Cordelia Chase:
What a ride, We’re 21 today!
