This project will reimagine Highsmith’s life as a horror movie by exploring her fascination for gruesome murders, and a doomed relationship with two women that influenced the course of her life, just before she wrote her seminal novel The Talented Mr. Ripley.

Memento will launch sales ahead of the Cannes market, and they described this project as a new take on the biopic genre that will definitely leave a mark on the audience.

“This is such a unique way to explore someone’s legacy, while implementing their world into their life story. The script goes from idyllic Italian settings to gruesome murder fantasies with a strong inspiration from her work,” reads the studio’s official statement.

Shailene Woodley will appear in Dumb Money, Ferrari, and To Catch a Killer later this year, and she’s recently been cast in the murder mystery Killer Heat alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Richard Madden. She’ll be in pretty good company on the set of The Murderous Miss Highsmith, with Cara Delevingne (Carnival Row) and Noémie Merlant (Portrait Of A Lady On Fire) joining her in supporting roles.

Killer Heat centers on twin brothers (Madden) who find themselves caught in a violent love triangle on a remote Greek island. A damaged detective known as “The Jealousy Man” (Gordon-Levitt) is called in to investigate after one of them is suspected of murdering another.

The production will kick off next month in Crete, with the Night of the Kings filmmaker Philippe Lacôte serving as a director. Roberto Bentivegna (House of Gucci) wrote the script, while the Oscar-nominated screenwriter Matt Charman (Bridge of Spies) did the revisions.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has several more projects in development right now, and we’ll soon get to see him in the musical dramedy Flora and Son and another murder mystery Providence. Shailene Woodley will lead Showtime’s Three Women, in addition to starring in Dumb Money, Ferrari, and To Catch a Killer later this year. As for Richard Madden, he will soon appear in Amazon’s sci-fi action series Citadel alongside Priyanka Chopra.

Three Women portrays female desires where three women take a crash course to overturn their lives. Wise will play Sloane, a glamorous entrepreneur who’s in a committed open marriage until two strangers threaten their love story. There’s also Maggie, a North Dakota student who accuses her married English teacher of an inappropriate relationship. Woodley plays Gia, a writer grieving the loss of her family and she convinces the three women to tell their stories, which will change their lives forever.

Gilpin will play Lina, an Indiana homemaker who has an affair after a decade in a passionless marriage.

Gilpin is known for her roles in GLOW, The Hunt, The Tomorrow War, and Nurse Jackie. Her next appearances will be in Gaslit and Roar.

Three Women is being adapted for the screen by Taddeo who will also serve as executive producer. Also executive producing are Laura Eason, Kathy Ciric, Emmy Rossum, and Louise Friedberg.

According to its official plotline, Endings, Beginnings tells the story of a 30-something-year-old woman, navigating through love and heartbreak over the course of one year. In addition to the Big Little Lies star, its cast also includes Jamie Dornan and Sebastian Stan.

Endings, Beginnings was directed by Drake Doremus (Like Crazy and Equals) who often asks his actors to improvise their dialog, and that’s one of the biggest challenges that Woodley had to face while working on her latest project.

“[The production felt] incredibly authentic, real, raw and stripped-down – more so than any other project I’ve ever been a part of.  Because the entire thing was improvised, there was a sense of immediate sensitivity and vulnerability that had to exist between ourselves with ourselves and ourselves with each other,” Woodley told The Hollywood Reporter.

Endings, Beginnings had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and it started streaming on April 17th, after its theatrical release was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Aeronauts’ Felicity Jones and Big Little Lies star Shailene Woodley are set to star in the big-screen adaptation of The Last Letter From Your Lover. Jones will star as the female lead opposite male lead Callum Turner.

Helmed by Augustine Frizzell, the love story follows Ellie (Jones), a journalist in London who discovers and becomes obsessed with the story behind a series of love letters outlining a star-crossed romance between Jennifer Stirling (Woodley) and Anthony O’Hare (Turner) in the 1960s.

Set to co-star are Nabhaan Rizwan, Joe Alwyn, and Ncuti Gatwa.

A release date has yet to be announced, but Shooting begins in Mallorca next Monday.
