Anyone But You is one of the buzziest rom-coms hitting the theatres this winter, and tensions are running high in the new trailer. Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell star in the first full trailer for this comedy, which does a great job revealing the film’s enemies-to-lovers storyline.

Sweeney and Powell play two people whose brief fling ended in disaster, only for them to be brought together while attending a destination wedding in Australia. They come up with an elaborate plot to make their exes jealous and decide to pretend they’re actually a couple despite hating each other’s guts.

The new trailer offers a better idea about what this movie is actually about, unlike the first teaser from last month. It left people pretty puzzled, and the director Will Gluck said he’s responsible for not painting a clearer picture of the film’s plot the first time around.

“The teaser wasn’t well received and I put that completely on my own shoulders. We tried to get too cute with it. It is a big fun comedy, and if you saw that teaser without anything else, you’d think, ‘Is someone going to get killed? Is this a thriller?’ That was a mistake on my part,” Gluck told Entertainment Weekly.

In addition to Sweeney and Powell, the film’s cast will include Alexandra Shipp, GaTa, Hadley Robinson, Michelle Hurd, Dermot Mulroney, Darren Barnet, and Rachel Griffiths. It will be released on December 22 by Sony Pictures.
