The elusive Tina Turner has shared a rare message to fans to celebrate her 80th birthday.
Although the legendary singer is on Twitter, she very rarely speaks out directly to fans. On her birthday, however, Turner shared a video message to fans with an uplifting and empowering message.
“Yes, I’m 80,” she said. “How did I think I would be at 80? Not like this. How is this? Well, I look great, I feel good, I’ve gone through some very serious sicknesses that I’m overcoming. So it’s like having a second chance at life.”
She added: “I’m happy to be an 80-year-old woman.”

Many celebrity icons have also used Twitter to wish Turner a happy birthday. Ronnie Wood and the Beatle Ringo Starr are among those that have recorded messages to send birthday wishes.
