How far would an actress go to expose a director, producer or fellow actor for physical or psychological harm?  In an interview with The New York Times, Actress Uma Thurman explains the reality of the famous scene where her character is driving a light blue convertible.

She explains that this scene was ‘forced’ upon her without the use of a stunt-person. She adds that “Quentin [Tarantino] came in my trailer and didn’t like to hear no, like any director. He was furious because I had cost them a lot of time. But I was scared.” Tarantino persuaded her that the car was safe and that is was an easy and straight – forward stunt. But, that simply was not the case.

In the video we see the car drifts off the road and drives head on into a palm tree. The viewers see Uma Thurman is still and helpless until crew members arrive at the scene to pull her out of the car wreckage. Thurman believes of that car wreckage on the set of Kill Bill led to permanent physical damage to her body. She explains after that crash ” Quentin and I had an enormous fight, and I accused him of trying to kill me.”

Since the article was published on February 3rd, Tarantino had responded and deeply regretted this horrific incident. Thurman explained to her followers on Instagram that she only blames Harvey Weinstein and the other producers for covering up this terrible car crash. She adds that “they lied, destroyed evidence, and continue to lie about the permanent harm they caused and then chose to suppress.the cover up did have malicious intent, and shame on these three for all eternity.”
